My Screen has Suddenly Become Black. What's Wrong?Hermskii wrote: You hit f10 to cancel but hit f11 too and raised the brightness one more level which after the highest level sets it back to the lowest which is pitch blach.
Start up UT. Hit F11 key about 5 times
This key affects the brightness. At 5 you'll be able to see something.

Credits.utx MismatchThis is a particularly annoying mismatch, in fact you can NOT remove the file and download it from the server, because UT would crash since this file is required to run UT itself. Now for what I've understood, Epic released two different Credits.utx packages, one for the old UT99 edition and a different one for the UT G.O.T.Y. edition, but they forgot to rename the package. "Epic" failure I would say... Well here you can find the UT G.O.T.Y. version, originally posted HERE on the KB forums: PupaePants wrote: Make a backup copy of the origional file located in your UT Textures folder then overwrite it with this new one. This has worked for Mi@, Beta2 and myself so far. Thanks KB for sending us this. Credits_utx UT GOTY versionPP The attached one instead is the UT99 version.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thank you folks!
A reminder also for the mappers: please do NOT use that package for your maps! If you really need to use those textures, try to embed them in the map itself.

NexGen Spectator Glitch
Problem: if you join a MonsterHunt server running NexGen in spectator mode and then you want to switch to player mode, your lives will go to zero.
Fix suggested by Supreme: - Change team color in Player Setup - Disconnect and select your skin - Reconnect to get your skin and lives back

Where is the keybind for Mapvote instruction. I know you had it on the forum before. I need it. I do not want to finish a map and have it load so I can choose it. This is for my test player install.

I figured it out:
Go to your c:\UnrealTournament\system folder.
Open the User.ini file.
Scroll down a little to the [Engine.Input] section.
Find a key you want to use to launch the MapVote Window.
Say that X is the key, make it look like this:
X=MUTATE BDBMAPVOTE VOTEMENU
You're done!

I know I saw it before but I could not find it in here so I added it myself. I knew the basics but wanted the quick and easy to find answer. I didn't find it so I made it here for future reference.
Next question. Maps come with jpg files sometimes. I assume that is the file used to preview a map in MapVote. Where does the jpg file go? I never have included them with the map before and that is likely why my MapVote preview box is usually empty when you select different maps.

Maps do not use jpg files. Those are just included by some mappers for you to look at. AND - Many times when a mapper Uploads a map to a map downloading site, the site asks for or requires a screen shot of the map so they include a jpg file also. MapVote uses the screen shot (usually pcx file) that is loaded (imported) into the map itself into its MyLevel package. The map screen shot doesn't show in MapVote for 2 reasons that I can think of right now in my current state of being half awake. 1) The mapper failed to import a screen shot into the map. 2) You do not have the map downloaded from the server yet and therefore you cannot see the screen shot in your MapVote.

UT Music not WorkingA: My UT music has stopped working, I can just hear the UT menu music for all maps. What's wrong? Reiyel_3.0 wrote: Re: You probably have installed the Oldskool Amp'd mod. If that's the case, you need to turn it off, and probably restart your UT as well.

Among support personnel, that's called a PICNIC error.

That's the workaround Reiyel suggested me, so don't blame me, I'm not the Holy Bible. Plus it's still best to have that mod disabled, to avoid any possible past, present and future conflicts with other mods/mutators, lmao.
