Hey guys.. I have a small server question if I may pick someones brain here.... My server... Going pretty well, still weeding out some of the buggy maps and such. As of late Ive noticed when the server switches maps, theres a long pause .. somthing like 20-30sec. Then the redirect server kicks in and everything proceeds. Are there server settings I should be aware of to hopefully eliminate this delay? Just curious if anyone else has run into this.

Who hosts your server?

Have you tried restarting it? Sometimes my Home Based server {CMM}/{CRW}, gets a bit bogged down also as the log gets huge is my guess.
Sometimes the rental one is a bit slow also as the redirect on that one is an automated one.

The server itself has an up time of about 2 months. The game however gets shut down and restarted once a week as I do maintence and updates to CentOS. I can try a cold restart and see what happens.

Do you mean a long server travel delay? I mean when you vote for a map, it takes a minute or so to start downloading it and in the meanwhile the server appears to be down. I've noticed that on the KAUT BunnyTrack server also, but I've no idea about the possible causes. Are you using Nexgen? If so, try disabling the Server Performance Optimizer.

Thats correct Pots.. The server travel delay is really starting to annoy me. Once a map is selected, it takes about 30sec for the redirect to kick in. I do run Nexgen and will try your suggestion. One thing Ill try that ive not done is watch a live log roll with the TAIL command as the server travels... and hopefully Ill see where the hangup is.
