I had thought that I installed it actually and tested it. I'll double check and fix it late Sunday. Thanks!

OK, well I had downloaded and tested MH-Demons but failed to copy iy over to the server and failed to compress it and upload to the high speed download server. I'm doing that now so MH-Demons should likely be on the server and functional by the time you read this.
It is taking forever to compress. I saw this with one of the other maps too the other night. It took it like 15 minutes to compress where 3 or 4 others all compressed within 1 minute all together. I wonder why that is.

Yes Herm, me and Hook have a similar problem with a specific map, I really have no idea why it happens, we tried with Compress_A_Lot, UZ_Comprez and even with the DOS prompt but nothing seems to work. Must be a random bug with the UCC.exe I think.

Just so you know, no matter what program you use to compress, they all must use the UCC from the game. The code for the UCC is what Epic protects the most, and will not allow other non-licensed users to have. So no matter the program you have, they are all really just an interface to access the UCC dos prompt.
UCC has some major flaws in the 99 version that were fixed in 2003. I've seen some small maps take 45 minutes and some large ones take 30 seconds. As far as I can tell there is no rhyme or reason, it just is. Let it go and it will be done when it's done and that's the best you can do for it.

The same map, MEAT said he had no problem compressing. I'll try it again and let it go for awhile. Last time, I let it go for about 20 to 25 mins. Yeah, it is weird. The other night I compressed one file that was 13.5 MB in about 20 seconds. The file in question was only about 2.5 MB. Oh well.

Yeah I thought so, but how come GameServers.com offer their own rental compression service? Must be something like WinRar vs WinZip, I mean two different methods but with the same goal.

They offer a redirect service, not a compression service. They have some script that just scrapes your server for non-standard files, runs them through a compression program just like you do, then adds them to a redirect specific to your server.

I set mine up as a simple batch file to compress files. I have a folder named UZ that I put in the UnrealTournament folder. Then I put all of the maps that I want to compress into that folder. The I start the batch file which brings up the DOS box and shows as it is compressing everything. When it goes away, you are done. Then you just go to that UZ folder and grab all of the compressed files and copy them up to the redirect server. I ought to build it out further to grab all of the UZ files only and put them in an upload folder.
If you're still doing it the old way, you should try it my way sometime. I'll share the batch file I made with anyone. It is that easy. In fact, here it is now! Just unzip it and do what I said above.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I got your BAT file Hermskii! - Thanks! BTW - Where do you put the BAT file - in that UZ folder? You actually do it just about exactly like I do only I use CompressALot. I even have a UZ folder that CompressALot deposits all the UZ files into. PS: I tried Compressing that same map again tonight with CompressALot. I let it go for as long as it takes. It took a little over an hour! But it did it!

Hahaha. Look at this path I have it in:
C:\Master\Game_Stuff\Unreal Tournament Stuff\Utilities
but You can run it from anywhere on the PC if I recall.

I just compressed 2.27mb worth of stuff down to 1.56mb worth of stuff using that batch file. What was cool was it was not UT stuff. It was .ico files and .txt stuff. Papers and pictures and stuff like that. I had forgotten that I always wondered if UCC Compress could compress non UT stuff. It can. It will not compress a folder though. They must all be single files. Now I know but I don't feel more smarter. Doh!

I just added the most recent version of Andromeda in the form of Beta Test 14 parts 1 and 2 and I added BigBoss's Map MH-BoxV1. Whew! I'm all caught up now for everything I planned to do in April. That was tough! LOL.
