UGH that's so unfair, I wanted to be the first running that brand new Andromeda map. :(
Where did you find it? :?

This is not the new one that we hear he is making. It is the last version of the old one I think. So you still have HOPE!

Does anyone still have the old Androm, the one with the long run-up the hill outside?

The full version you mean?
Here it is: http://www.utsurvival.com/pots/MH-Andromeda-Ancient-Test1V.zip

P.S. Hey Herm hope you don't mind if I "borrow" your new Andromeda maps from your server.

It's not necessary Herm, I saved them from my Cache folder, they're already both on the redirect and the actual server.

I really think I should stop making changes to the servers for a bit now, just maintenance and stuff like that.

The Redeemer has been found.. that's a start already.
It was very close to the place were it's at in the normal Andromeda, it was underneath it.
There were 2 platforms were you can jump on and get the Redeemer. :D

I found the translocator also, it's located at the end of the second BT stage, after you unlock the health packs, but it takes two players this time to get it, since you have to press a button to activate a portal, and only one of them can get it.
Well it's kinda complicated you may also need to grab the jumpboots first. :?

To be honest the map looks better now, but I still prefer the old BT.

It's funny though, they decided to split the main map (MH-Andromeda-Ancient = 16.7 MB) into two parts because it was too big in size, and now we have:

MH-Andromeda-Part1 = 12.3 MB
MH-Andromeda-Part2 = 19.2 MB
Total = 31.5 MB, which is almost twice the original size.

I don't care how he does it. It is my opinion still that it is by far the best MH map made to date and back when he released the very first version it was already years ahead of everybody. On another note, Derdak2rot has made the most of the best MH maps ever to date but I think others are catching up. That is good news to me. the more "good" maps, the better!

I set mine up as a simple batch file to compress files. I have a folder named UZ that I put in the UnrealTournament folder. Then I put all of the maps that I want to compress into that folder. The I start the batch file which brings up the DOS box and shows as it is compressing everything. When it goes away, you are done. Then you just go to that UZ folder and grab all of the compressed files and copy them up to the redirect server. I ought to build it out further to grab all of the UZ files only and put them in an upload folder.

Maybe it's just me, but the UCC.exe does not recognize the "*" special character; I mean if you enter the following command:
"ucc compress *.*" it does nothing but shutting itself down.

P.S. Yes the current directory was UnrealTournament\System, but still nothing happens. Oh well luckily Compress_A_Lot works fine.

OMG pots I almost crapped my drawers I was laughing so hard!!

Think this through my good friend. What does the character "*" represent in most all ini files, coding, etc? Think banning...

This sort of "too close to something to see the answer" happens all the time in coding. Thank you for the chuckle, it was well needed

Ok I'm glad I provided you some comic relief... :P

Anyway I still don't get it because:

1 - I'm probably sleeping after compressing/decompressing downloading/uploading chewing/spitting 100 maps or so...
2 - The "*" character means "all the alphanumeric characters you can find in a specific directory/range" unless someone remade the DOS syntax (probably Steve "Apple" Jobs just to piss off Bill Gates)
3 - Herm posted this piece of batch file:
Code:
cd c:\unrealtournament\system
ucc compress ..\uz\*.*

and according to him it works great, so thank Herm not me...

Tomorrow I'll figure this out, maybe.

I don't get it GOPO.

Here is the text of the batch file I use:

cd c:\unrealtournament\system
ucc compress ..\uz\*.*

That is it! It works great. Does it really not work for you POTS or was your post really just too high above my head to get whatever GOPO just said? The way you wrote it, it would only be funny to me if somehow it did work and compressed every single thing on the PC. I suspect that was what GOPO was laughing about since your command as is would try to do just that if run run from the proper folder. It would do it to but UCC can't figure out what to do with a folder. It can compress files though. All day long!

Somebody explain what I missed if I really did miss something here PLEASE!

OK never mind it works now, I made it step by step.

Just a second, may any of you guys explain me why the decompress command doesn't work the same way? That was what I was actually trying to explain, I don't know why I wrote compress instead of decompress.

Code:
cd c:\unrealtournament\system
ucc decompress ..\uz\*.*

FAIL!

Code:
cd c:\unrealtournament\system
ucc decompress ..\uz\*.uz

FAIL!

Code:
cd c:\unrealtournament\system
ucc decompress ..\uz\*

FAIL!

Please make a working batch file for DEcompressing files. :P
