Are you using Direct3D or OpenGL? I know OpenGL does this often but never heard of it happening with Direct3D.

Start the game in safe mode. Start, Programs, UnrealTournament, UT in safe mode. When it ask what renderer to use select Direct 3D. Let me know.

Hey, I'll remote in to your PC if you want and set it all up from the ground up. It takes about 10 minutes. If that is no good for you then do this instead. It is still basically right: http://hermskii.ipower.com/page6.html

Don't forget you can also adjust your brightness level by pressing F11.

True about F11 Meat - Ive hit that before by accident, and wondered why everything got brighter....I've figured out what my trip was - like 4 or 5 yrs ago when I didnt have as good a comp. as I have now, I HAD to use 'software rendering', then when i got a better comp./video card/etc, I guess I just kept it that way since evrthing seemed cool......So this thread/my prob is solved - but good to keep it on here in case somebody else has same problem someday. Killya later

I'm gettin ready to look again, but for 2 days i havent seen CG in the browsers...not only to put in my Favorites again, but to attain my map-vote key again....as far as i can see, this can only be done when you go to CG for the first time....Am I right when I say that it cant be done on Meat's server, or any other server ?.....CG is the only server I've known, that gives you the option to set the map-vote key.... Knowledge cannot be attained without ignorance lol I've only beat Meat one time ( ya right i've been single before) lol

Somwhere in here is a thgread called POTS' Faq's or something like that. I may give him his own forum section soon of nothing but how to do this or that but what I'm trying to say is that in this topic of his FAQs there is a topic about setting the mapvote key. I wrote it myself this time. This reminds me and POTS that "POTS" needs to write up a section abbout using the brightness key bind and how it can make you think you have a bad install or bad video card when you set it all the way down to 1 by accident and all you get no matter what is a black screen.

As far as I've ever seen, your CG server is the only one that allows you to se the map vote key....once this is done, i can use that same key to vote on ANY server....
