The redeemer crowd (myself) cut their teeth playing and using regular weapons. Don't forget that's where it all began. The redeemer "world" as we know it was an after thought. And a lot of the "redeemer crowd" still play regular stock weapons mods. But those that choose to stay and play redeemer are the elite and they strive to conquer the badest weapon around...the Redeemer.

Being a redeemer master is the equivalent of saying: "I hold the world record in hitting an archery target with a frizbee while playing the violin". Yes it's impressive, but you don't exactly have alot of skilled opponents.

In MH you're always on the move (except when we play MHM style which is climbing buildings/cliffs etc.). Everyone has his own taste.

Should read "they strive to conquer the baddest weapon around... MEAT" ...and SURE, on the surface, it looks easy enough with a blast radius a half a block wide but try to EVADE that damage and still be effective is the key skill so many outsiders don't grasp. Also the first impulse to surviving is to hide and guide but it's the chase, the hunt and the ability to get away fast enough and return fire! That's the fun part! Although I've been absorbed into the MonsterHunt stuff, Redeemer is still on the top of my list of favorite UT styles!

And there lies the problem...you never learned how to play redeemer... Depending on the map I spent about 10% to 20% guiding and the rest of the time I'm on the hunt. And with the additon on SniperDeemer it's 100% hunt...no guiding allowed. It's basically Sniper on Steroids and it's taking over the redeemer world.

Yes, actually I myself am way better at Regular Weapons DM than I am at Redeemer. And YES, redeemer usually requires a LOT of Action indeed - maybe even more than MH. - because in redeemer, if you stay in one place a little too long, you are toast!

I have to spend the whole map wading through spam or hunting down cowardly whelps in their hidey-holes. I know it's an aqquired taste, but thanks to it's massive noob population (not you) and spam-oriented combat I could never be bothered to aqquire it. This hasn't stopped me hanging around the MRS/RVH forums like B-monkey's replacement though

Okay, maybe noobs was the wrong word. 4/5 players are uncommunicative or rude, do not listen to other people, enjoy mindless maps, get stuck on puzzles, rush the exit sign like it's a giant magnet, and are incapable of holding a mature(ish) conversation. Many of them are also lacking in skill, but it's the attitude that gets me. "WTF" "gg" "I asked you not to end " "lol" "I just wanted to try one thing out..." "lol" "*sigh*" "u gay"

Treat the new ones the best. Eventually they'll figure out if they will play for life or not. If they stay too long it will be too late for them and well they'll be like us. Hmmmm? Is that good or bad? LOL
Old blood owns but new blood keeps it interesting. be nice to the noobs. If you get them to the forum and they post more than 12 times over half a year then they are ours!
Then we can start to treat them like MEAT. Sorry MEAT. Please keep sending me emails. PLEASE!
