BACKGROUND
The WTC map on the server is a good map, in the actual layout. It's a pretty good setup and there is alot of goofing potential in it, but the map is RUINED by the monsters.
Huge amounts of them, with ludicrous HP values and insane attack power, the whole map just become based around endless death.

IDEA
So, considering as the monsters are the problem in an otherwise good map, then me, HellFire, and Reiyel think we should have an enhanced shock rifle in the spawn area. This will stop the map being a huge, spammy piece of annoyance, and turn it into something playable.

DEVELOPMENT
Simply adding an instagib rifle to a map's spawn would be very easy, HellFire or Supreme could do it, or even I could learn how to add 1 spawn to a map.

ISSUES
I'm unsure about mapmakers permission, but seeing as all we're doing is adding an insta spawn, I don't see what problems could come up, even if we did get hold of him.
As far as I can see, it's a matter of ask (done) implement (easy) and upload (unknown)

While you are at it, fix the elevators too. I always meant to and never did.

This map is indeed a pile of agony.
Insta will make it more playable but the map is still horrid
how about i add some BPAK weapons? :twisted:

I support the idea of putting an instagib or similarly powerful weaponry at the start completely -- it would definitely make playing through the map more manageable, especially with those annoying killer superskaarj.

Also, fixed lifts would be nice, plus a better lift system -- I remember a couple of times where I opened the doors and walked in, only to realize the lift's not actually at the bottom. Long story short, I got trapped inside and got squashed when the lift finally came down. (Sure, it's kind of a silly mistake to make, but it does happen. Just thought I'd suggest it.)

Insta ruins maps. The moment it is available a map just becomes a race to the end. WTC suffers from having a couple of spots with no cover, like the top floors. Once you get there you can't get away and effectively you just throw lives at it until you get the monsters under control.
Why don't I fix the elevators and add monster blocks to the side the elevators come out? At least you'll have a cubby there where you can retreat to if you need it. The bottom part is a grind but doable, the second floor maybe could use some easing up though. Anyone got specific ideas?

Here's another idea: Let's just remove all the monsters so the map has zero trouble. :roll:

Dude ideas and opinions are NOT the same thing. You'll be better served when you can distinguish between them.

how about we add some more powerful weapons? like Combat pistols, Hellfire Cannon, that blue stinger thingy, etc

I like that idea of the weapons.
I think maybe we should take all (or most) of the redeemers out of the ground level though.
Since both strong weapons and deemers I think would over power the map.

The Combat Pistols and many other superweapons are useless with the current ammo-regeneration rate, unless you scatter tons of ammo pickups all over the map.

Well that could just make more of a challange since the weapons will make it easy.
or once the combat pistol runs out switch to hellfire cannon etc
and hope the others are full before the next one runs out :P

There's also a Flamer we could use, it's part of the MJD package.
That pack contains many fun and odd weapons like the Balloon Gun, the Rainbow ShockRifle and the Grenade Launcher.

Gopo, out of curiosity have you ever played this map?

Anyway, I like the idea of more powerful weapons, maybe the insta would be overkill so HellFire flak etc. might be a better idea. :/
