UT still have problem

I never reinstall fresh from CD so Copy it from Old PC .Now it Lag

Is CD starch or what/
I never have so prolbem before.

One way around the problem would be to go and get the UT99 demo.
Then after installation you add the 436 patch to it.
This will give you the full game. Then just go to the servers you want to play on, and download what you need from them. Using their files from their servers will prevent any file mismatch errors too.

This is how I put the game onto my brother's computer, btw.

Seems he is saying he did NOT use the cd.

Scify use the cd to install it .

Do Not copy it from an old computer. This causes problems.

The reg fix is only to fix file associations of your computer when umods don't work by double click.
It's not going to solve any of your problems.

I feel that you are going through allot of trouble for no reason Sciffy boy.

What you need to do is delete everything UT off your comp.

Install UT from the original disk.
Then install the 436 patch and be done.

Oh, well I got the impression that Scify was saying that her cd is scratched, so she was trying to reinstall by copying files from her other computer.

That's why I suggested the demo + patch route. It works. You end up with a very basic install of the game, but it will run.

I thought it was scratched.So I order Unreal Anthology that have UT GOTY.It was $13.00 . I try again for 7 time ,with same CD and it work.I try Herm server Download maps fine.
Then got Meat download everything but blast mapvote it won't send . I use UT Reg Fix .
Try meats again No problem . Now I have Back copy UT

File mismatch error.....I was wondering why no one followed me.
You all got a mismatch error.
And all this time I thought people were scared of me....sorry about that.
Did you remove your old "Sky" file and replace it with this one?
Have you played this map yet?

It wasn't a mismatch error.
It just said ... that the server refuses to send package "sky"
I DL'd everything else for that map but "sky"

Herm explained this before.

The server has a file named sky. But the file on the server is in caps so it doesn't recognize it as the same thing. All you have to do is rename your Sky to what ever it is looking for and bam your in.

You are talking to MEAT correct?

(files and their Names on the server SHOULD remain as they were originally - if they were orignally in lowercase, they should remain that way)

Never change a packages file name!

PS: I don't even have ANY files called "sky" on my comp.

MEAT needs to get that file named sky and make 3 copies of it called

1. SKY1
2. sky2
3. Sky3

Then copy them to the redirect server.

Now, on the redirect server rename them all by removing the 1 at the end of their name so now they'll be:

1. SKY
2. sky
3. Sky

That way, he has every version that a players PC may call for. This is the only solution.

The problem is that different maps call for different versions of the name so if one calls for SKY to already be on the redirect server and the version of one on the server is sky the the player will get the "Failed to download file "SKY" error.

With this solution almost nomatter what version the map calls for, the redirect will have that file. I've only found the issue with about 10 files so far. Here are a few:

spire
space marines
mountain
sky
unreal4
and several music files.

Yes, that works IF those 3 files are identical files with just the names different.
Otherwise, because, UT looks for a code in the file.
If that code doesn't match the called file, no matter what the file name is, it is a mismatch error at that point.
