1. Do you want the BT bricks to move or just be stationary around the map?
2.A map needs 3 things to work and be playable.
a.Playerstart actor
b.a light
c.a subtracted area to spawn into.
If you are dying when you spawn then check to make sure you have the playerstart in a safe place. You dont want to spawn into a wall or something.
Also do you have lava below you or anything?
Check out the beginers tutorials. Build a map with the tutorials and you will learn all the features and procedures to build a map.

I can answer more if you give more information.

The world starts as a solid block.
When you subtract a cube you are cutting out a room out of the solid universe.
Once you subtract it it is cut out, don't try to subtract the same thing twice. it will not work.
Note: APLYING TEXTURES:
If you have a texture selected already when you add or subtract a builder brush ED will automatically use that texture when you hit subtract or add button.
If you didn't select a texture it will use the default white bubbly texture or the last on you had selected.
To apply textures to an already subtracted/added geometry you must do 1 of the two choices below.
- 1.hilight texture in the texture browser then right click surface and select apply texture "name of texture" - It will be the last selection ion the bottom of the popup window.
- 2.or you can select the surface then go to the texture browser and click on a texture and it will apply it to the surface.
You should really walk through the beginner tut links i posted. Do everthing with the tutorial as you read it so you have understanding. It's not hard to learn the basics. Just learn one thing at a time.
To build the BT steps use the different views just like a cad drafting program. Right click on the cube button and input the size you want the brick to be. 2> position it in the world where you want it. click the add button and continue. To move them select them and move them. Remember to do a geometry build after you move things and before you save the map progress.

No you are doing it wrong.matrix wrote:I am following the tutorials. But it says to build the block, hit textures, select texture, close texture menu, then subtract the block from the void.
It does not paste the texture to the inside of my room.
Maybe this is a Vista problemo?
You can create a brush but it is not subtracted yet.
The tut says exactly what i said in the previous post.
1.build brush to size and shape by right clicking on cube brush button.
2.open texture browser select texture. "you don't have to close it , just leave it open".
3.Subtract the brush from the world and your cube room will have texture you chose.
re-read my last post. If you do it the correct way it will work fine. Do exactly like it says.

You probably got the mover messed up somehow.
Witch mover did you select to build from the list?
Regular?
Elevator?
I don't suppose it matters. I just use regular for everything.
Right click on the mover and it will glow bright purple.
Then goto Solidity.
Make sure it is set to solid.
If that doesn't work then right click on the mover.
goto Properties>Collision
Make sure
bBlockActors
bBlockPlayers
bCollideActors - are all set to true.
If that doesn't work then delete the mover and start a new one cause you went wrong somewhere.
