MH-Gateways to Hell
welp here it is my first map, there is some BT in it so beware.
storyline you are a group of explorers who were searching through a city sewer when all of a sudden you fell through a giant hole...now your in a weird place were the only way out is into the gates of hell

HEY DELETE THAT LINK RIGHT NOW.
DO NOT install it.
Go rename that texture file to something else right now.
If people play that map with a texture file with that name it will HOSE up their sh!t.
If you have played/installed the map , Just delete the Mylevel.utx file and your cool.
Fyi,
You cannot save the textures as mylevel.
srry for all the drama , i freeked out when i saw it. Glad i did. It will cause mass hysteria.

first, are you talking about the teles in the BT room?because one goes to death in slime, and another the start of the next room, and another to the start of the room you just did.
and the pent. room, boss was telling me it needs more stuff but i have no idea what to put in there? i asked him how i could make it more interesting and he says "uhhhh i dunno better textures or somthin" (no offense boss but you werent that big of a help with that specific room, you were though a HUGE help with BT testing and testing everything else too)
so kort i ask you newbie mapper to master mapper, how can i make the room more interesting?

Hey "X" - I'll have to take a good "walk through" of your map!
Ya - the "MyLevel" thingy has screwed up many a game LOL.
It is actually meant to be used when imbedding the custom textures, etc., into a map so you don't need extra files with the map file.
Also - The New Corrected URL for the Corrected Gateway to Hell BETA is ...

I am looking for a tutorial i read once that will help you. It is about what to put in a room to make it interesting.
But don't wait for me to find it. Start looking around while your playing on the servers. Look at how the maps are built and how the architecture is put together. This is what helped me the most.
Try to do similar things in your rooms.
What you want to avoid at all costs is a plain rectangular room and flat walls.
Use lots of shapes and pillars set into the wall. Take sharp corners and cut them to be more flowing. Put some 3 dimension in there. And give the players multi levels to move.
