It's easy to NOT get VIP by keep asking it

I know, I am such a pest. I'm finished with it, I just feel left out, so I might just delete that post so I don't sound like a brat!

I wish I had a spare computer to use it as a server for my own online server, I need to try to get a computer for it so my computer genious friend can mess with the router and IP and all that good stuff to get it online without having to pay one cent for my server! :D
If he manages to get it working, I might share with you guys how to make it work for free!

Hey, we all do that already. :P
Hermskii runs his servers right from home - I used to and still do occasionally.
MEAT runs MRS from his home too.
You can do it too - it is pretty easy really.

PS: you don't even need a separate computer - even though it is better. 8)

The thing is about that, is:
1: When you make a dedicated server, it's gameplay is the same of how the gameplay is on the computer, and on my laptop the gameplay is terrible, I use my dads really nice HP 22 inch computer! :P
2: I would rather not have somebody access my own computer, I would rather have a seperate computer to allow others past my firewall.
3: I can view players gameplay by keeping it on spectate the whole time so I can take action quickly and easily.
So there's a chance I can get my brothers computer since he uses my dads old one and NEVER uses his old one!

PS: I REALLY REALLY wish you guys could meet my brother! He will be the most "Movie" and "Music" buff you will EVER meet! He is the coolest guy I know and he knows almost all there is to know about the real world! Too bad he doesn't like Unreal Tournament and would never join the forums. I really wish he could come here so you guys could see his brilliance! He actually turned 20 yesterday, and boy is he a smarty for his age! :P

*Answer...
1: Not exactly - I have to disagree with your #1 reason above - it doesn't take much of a computer to run a UT server.
Your Bandwidth (both ways) is more important actually.
Most of the hard work is done on the client's (player's) computer - No graphics rendering, etc., is done on the server.
A 10 to 12 year old computer (think Pentium III or II) runs a UT99 server just fine - or even more than one server at a time.

PS: It is so refreshing to hear you admire your brother! - Very nice!

Well, whenever I make a LAN server and some people join it, they're gameplay is the same as it would be if I was playing it on my laptop. Example:
I play on my laptop and it runs terribly, sometimes you'll slow down and sometimes you'll speed up. When I make a dedicated server on my laptop, they're gameplay on the server is the same. Sometimes it's slow and sometimes it's fast. Also, I don't know if you guys notice this too when you first started, but sometimes your guy will freeze in one spot for about 5 seconds. You can still shoot and turn around and stuff and interact with pawns, but you're frozen in one spot for 5 seconds once in a while for the people connecting to my server. Weird. :?
