With the popularity of SniperDeemer I'm slowly but steadily moving more maps into play.
With that said...let's welcome DM-{BKS}-BukieIsland to the mix.

And thanks to those that offer map suggestions...I do listen.
But like I said before...when adding a map I first look at playability or flow/movement
within a map. And if needed I will tweak/fine tune certain maps.
Currently I have 100 of the most popular maps configured with individual settings...(BodenXX)
...player to bot ratio
...bot moods or skill level and movement
...bot count depending on map size
...other secret stuff
So even though I'm an idiot for the most part I do put some thought into it for your enjoyment. :wink:

WOW - did they Finally update good old Bodens Toys from BodenX2 to now BodenXX?
It used to only tweak up to 50 maps + default for all other maps.
Or - have you done The Special "Trick" so you can ADD More than 50 tweaked maps to Bodens MapConfig?
(even to old versions of Bodens Map Config - yes you can do this!)
(but better/alternative ways are here, and Coming <- more will come later on this and I will share when things are ready)

Curious -> ...player to bot ratio ?
THIS one IS new - I think?
So the more real players that enter a map, the more bots come in also? :shock:
Say the "bot ratio" is 2 bots for every player - if 3 players come in, then 6 bots come in also?
Or, is this pre-set according to how many players you expect to play a map? (MinPlayers setting)

BodenXX was a gopo special built for me and I think it's setup for 200 maps.
But I only tweaked about 100 popular ones that needed it...(two years ago).
Most maps have a basic generic setup...nothing special.

And as for player to bot ratio...well that was in fact secret stuff/mod
that gopo was working on for me.
It was designed for my bigger maps and in testing it worked like this:
Each time you killed one bot...two bots would spawn.
Bots would keep multiplying (after each kill) until one of them killed you.
And once you got killed bot count would go back to normal.
I ran/tested this mod for awhile but it kept crashing.
Plus bots kept killing each other (spawning to close together).
I thought of the idea as a way to keep players interested in playing the bigger maps.
Oh well...
As of now bot count is setup per map size and playability...BodenXX
So depending on map and player count you may see one to twelve bots in a game.

OK - I see (about the "Player to bot ratio" and the "secret stuff/mod") LOL :lol: - that's the way it goes I guess! :roll:

Bodens use...
I used to use Bodens also (back a few years) but it really limited the amount of maps you could tweak.
I had asked Gopo about it but for some reason he wouldn't or couldn't up the map count limit in Bodens (I forget the reason - permissions?), so I pursued other mods that might do better.
There just were not really any to be found, nor would any coders care to tackle it... (more on this later - below)

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
I took a look at the BodenXX.u file last night and it looks to me that it still limits the individually tweaked map count to 100 maps.
Gopo must have just raised the limit from 50 to 100 it appears. (I MAY be wrong but I am pretty sure of it after looking at BodensXX.u)

Never fear though - Remember the part I mentioned in a post above??? (Hint: The "Special Trick")
Yep, you do NOT need to re-code Bodens Map Config - it will handle more than 50 maps AS it IS, so to speak - well kind of. :wink:
Let me go back much earlier this year to the first few months of 2010...
(the scene wavers and we go back in time...)
I had a problem on {CLD}, when I first took over managing that server from its owner lucifur, with a new mod that tweaked maps - written by a "certain" coder I had met. (not gopo)
This New mod was really cool but I needed this new mod to have different default and individual map settings for DM type games and Team type games, etc.
This was something this certain coder missed doing with this mod.
This certain coder and myself chatted and worked on this problem and, with my instigation and prodding to fix it LOL, he came up with a Revolutionary Solution that I have never seen before anywhere else in the UT world. :o
This "Special Trick" can be applied to virtually any mod/mutator or game type I believe. (that has an ini file or section of some sort anyway for sure, so it'd be quite versatile)
I would appreciate it if we kinda kept this Wonderful "Special Trick" to ourselves - Within Our Own "family" of servers here at HOH and HUTP (and the certain coder's forum of course), at least until it "seeps" out of our forums by errant readers anyway.?
(Do Not go purposely spreading it to other forums and servers (the Competition) - give OUR servers an advantage) Please!
I will post a link to this "Special Trick" as soon as I find it again... (to come)

OR :arrow: Should I keep it Private - Only for us server admins / members here at HOH and HUTP who wish to know???

Yup it's only 100 maps.
It's must be my BodenCC that has the 200 map setup.
