So I have finally learned how to work this damn forum and was able to merge tons of stuff and delete spammers and inactive users and such. I merged entire forums here and there and even merged a few BIO's since we each only get one.

I like the forum the way it is. I don't expect to change the way it looks or add any additional functionality but I do want to change that bird in the upper left of this page back to the old picture of CG riding a deemer.

While I'm here and motivated I did want to know if there were any special request like:

Please nuke MEAT's account.
Please put on a blog section.
Please delete my last post or some certain topic.
Please lock or unlock a topic.

So there you have it. Yes, we do actually have 136 active users meaning they posted something at least once in the last 5 years. I'm currently working on the next generation of attention bringing processes to this forum and the servers. We must be careful here. I expect to grow and I sort of don't want to. I'm very pleased with the current stock we have here.
~Peace~

As I was saying. I am happy with what and who we have here. I would not mind getting more people but some tactics I'm about to employ won't really let me control the throughput of who and what shows up. We must keep our senses even when some ack-ass shows up and calls us all bad names. It is hard to be hidden from the world and in our own little santuary here when we can't help but to shine so brightly. We can't help it that we are this cool! Others will want to be like us and if they walk the line and treat us with kindness and respect then they too can join us and enjoy the fruits of our labor. That is all for now.

OK, so I just updated the forum again to be the latest greatest version. It has been out of spec since May or something like that and I did not know. I have a few new tools to stop the spammers now too so let's see how long that lasts. It still all pretty much looks the same to me but I'm sure some of you will see some differences. Let me know. Thanks!

I'd like to have a user-side delete button for my own posts if possible, so I can actually delete them if needed, instead of asking you and/or a moderator to delete them for me.

Thanks Herm for nuking all the spambots and inactive users, keep up the good work.

P.S. Please do not use the "good" old grainy CG logo.

Sorry bud (POTS). There is an option I have to allow everyone the ability to nuke their own posts but I determined that once you share here you can't take it back. I'm positive that somebody here would have already gone through and nuked every single thing they ever posted here because somebody else made them mad.

If that were to have happened we'd lose information and the linearness and clarity of the topics would be compromised so my foresight dictated to keep the client side function of deletion unavailable.

Please just keep requesting deletions as needed and at that point I'll determine if the deletion would effect the topic in a negative way. Yes, in other words, I'll run the forum the way our government wants to run your health-care. You'll only get what you want and or need when I gain from it too somehow.

Wow! That was the sickest thing that ever came out of my mouth here and I'm sorry for that but it is true.

Thanks. I need to first learn how to change the damn picture period. On the last version (2X)of this forum software I was able to do it without too much trouble. This version (3X)is a pain. That is why the bird is still there.

It's very easy. Look in the themes/ folder and go here:
black_pearl\imageset\sitelogo_small.png
If you edit that png in photoshop and simply overwrite it, you will instantly update the logo. I attached a default one you can keep as a backup.
sitelogo_small.png
Just do whatever you want to that png without resizing it and you'll be fine. I'll set you up if you tell me what you want done.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I went to the PHPBB forum and looked around for how to do it there and my answers were not nearly as easy as this one seems. This answer is how I did it last time. I'll test it and see. Thanks.

Oh man, I was so tempted to weigh in on that. I wrote tons and then erased it all, because at the end of the day it's not my fight. You guys are going to have to change things down there your way. You need a made in America health care system to replace the expensive patch work/band aid system you have now. Good luck with it.
I just hope you don't believe the kind of things that are being said by the likes of that Sarah Palin woman on her blog and twitter sites. I only recently became aware of some of what she has said there, and all I can say is that I am glad she did not make it to the White House, and is no longer the governor of Alaska, if she is going to utter such vile lies and distortions about the public health care systems north of the border, and in the UK.

No worry about Palin. There have to be two dozen commercials in the US with Canadians saying how much they hate Canadian health care or lack thereof. How they had to wait in "line" for treatment of minor things like brain tumors and such . . . .
Evil is obvious only in retrospect.

I'm not a huge fan of universal health care but next time you go to the doctor, ask for an itemized charge list (it's your right to ask for one). My last hospital visit I was charges $17 dollars PER PILL for two tylenol (non-prescription). I disputed the charge (among others on there) and I was told by the hospital accounting dept "Don't worry about it. It's the insurance paying, not you." So nice to hear honesty for once.

Oh it gets better too. I was told I had to stay an extra day for "observations". The swing shift charge nurse was really cool (we b.s.'ed some at night) so I asked her what was up. Her answer was "You got good insurance. We call you a 'MOOOOO', meaning 'cash cow'." I called my insurance company's fraud line and within 30 minutes the doc comes back in and said "I consulted with your specialist. We think you can just go home. It will be fine." Yep, good to know.

Until the big business part of healthcare is nulled somehow it will always be a mess.

A doctor and a nurse stand around a patient on the operating table. The doctor sighs, "He's dead." The nurse says, "Well, he's got insurance."
"Let's operate."

Well sorry I hijacked the thread. :?

But as Klownz points out, there are lots of others who are doing lots of lying and distorting, including a few dissatisfied Canadians who should know better. (How much were they paid to air their grievances???) Even if there's a lineup, these asshats should be reminded of the 10 of millions that don't even get to be in line south of the border.

Is it the insurance companies, or the drug companies and corporations that own the for-profit hospitals that want to maintain the status quo?
I've never seen what the problem is with bringing all the separate US public health plans that currently exist under one roof, and saving billions in reduced administration costs, and fraud reduction. Apparently there's even room to bring in the currently uninsured by doing that, without spending an extra penny. What is wrong with that? Who really stands to lose here?
