I went through my member list as I do about twice a year and nuked the ones that I felt were fake or just dead all together. There were a few that I knew the names but according to my logs they had never logged in even once. Of those, I nuked them.
There are programs designed to auto create accounts and they are very good at it. I have to stop these from getting in. I do the best I can. It means though that I have to delete members twice a year to do it too.
If I nuked your username by accident sorry. I have lots of things in place to keep fake users away. It mostly works. My criteria was this:
If they gave me a fake email they could not ever activate. I nuked em.
If they never logged in once...I nuked em.
