Type: DSL
Good: It always seems to be working well and the speed/ping seem to be pretty consistent!
Bad: It could be higher speed!!!

I am in a small town in Minnesota about 1/2 hour West of Minneapolis.

Download is about 3.2 mb/s
Upload is about 0.33 mb/s
Ping on Hermskii's {CG} is usually about 90 to 140 (sometimes better late at night)

Cable is fast when it works. Downside is if it breaks, it is usually down from a day to a week until they come out to fix it.

ISP: o2
Broadband connection (dunno what it is lol DSL???)

Good: Its usually always up and dont have much problems with it.
Bad: Its pretty slow tbh :/ also the router we have is junk, keeps making internet resets every hour which cuts the internet for like a second which is enough for most games to lose connection and have to be restarted which is GODDAMN ANNOYING!

Type: ADSL on copper line
Good: downstream transfer rate (from 6 to 7 Mbit/s), no annoying timeouts I used to have with dial-up
Bad: pathetic upstream transfer rate (0.4 Mbit/s at its best), decent ping but not as good as on cable/fibre optic, DSL signal loss at times (but this might depend also on the router)

Now lets see what DSL Reports says:

Hmmm? I don't know what to say. It sure doesn't seem that fast. I originally did this to complain about SpeedTest.Net results. They are usually way high. here they seem just a little high on the download side but nailed the upload I guess.

I am hijacking my own thread for a short time, about a minute and half worth. Seeing the good results so far from other members, in which I am grateful for, reminds me that us guys (the male species), we always compare stuff. The common joke or theory is that we are trying to show who is the bigger guy by the size or speed of things.

Not all things fast is the best, unlike internet and cars.

All the married men are laughing. (I am married so I can laugh at that)
Now back to the internet provider question..

Take a closer look at the name of the service provider and the date and you'll get your answer.

I noticed a couple things, the University, the date and stuff, but that is still wicked fast. Wow I just used an 80's term..wicked. Anyway back to the incredible speed. I wish residential speeds and ping times in the US could even be half that.

Anyway, POTS is a cheater  , so.... back to the thread..
