I am all good folks. I had a great time. The place was nice as was the friends. I was lame in that there was no craziness at all like at a normal one of these. Maybe we are all too old or grown up. We enjoyed the company, the scene at the beach, the sun and wind and all of the drinking and other stuff. The food was awesome but the stories we all shared ruled the day! Grea ttime. I got back and did yardwork.

Good to have you back - in one piece too.
PS: I told your friends to take it easy and limit anything crazy because you were getting older now.
They listened!

Re: HOH OFFICIAL - Good Morning/Day/Night thread...
I dug up the last of the *&$^%@)$*&^ nandinas in my yard today! I hate those things. I have removed several raised beds and regained hundreds of square feet of room so my kids and dogs can run free in the front and back yards. Now I just have to lay about 1,000ft of new grass and start watering like crazy!
I have a couple little plans to add in some new trees and shrubs but I'll keep it easy and on the cheap too! The point here being I'm over the hump at this point as far as my new house goes and getting the yards the way I want it. Yay for me I say!

My female dog chewed up my remote controls again last night! They weren't even 2 weeks old from the last time she chewed them up. Rest in peace Sheba!

Bah it snowed here last week, and turned Arctic cold too. Winter with avengeance. Oh well, I get to put off the yard work for at least two weeks now.Hermskii wrote:I dug up the last of the *&$^%@)$*&^ nandinas in my yard today! I hate those things. Herm, what on earth are "nandinas"? Is that a local word for Dandelions?
Do you buy those big bags of leather chews at the big box pet store? They're not too expensive, and my brother's dogs love them. They get to have 2 a day, or 3 if they've been good. It cuts down on the chewing incidents quite a bit, I believe. My female dog chewed up my remote controls again last night! They weren't even 2 weeks old from the last time she chewed them up. Re: HOH OFFICIAL - Good Morning/Day/Night thread...
Yeah, we have the rawhides and they get several a day. She usually does this at night. We are getting better about putting them away at night. I still love her.
Here is a link to several pictures of several kinds of nandinas. Mine are big green bushes that make little red beads all over them like holly does. They grow up out of the ground like bamboo sticks in very tight clusters so one big bush may have arounf 50 stalks. The roots grow all curling around each other at first and then they track under ground several feet away and pop up to make more nandinas. They spread all over everything. They are hard to dig up and very hard to kill. You don't have to water them or anything and they will grow like crazy.
They were my Dad's favorite plant so I had several of them here over 40 years old. Some of them had root clusters over 3 feet wide not including the runners. They go down a little deeper than a foot and some of these root clusters weighed well over 200 pounds after I dug them out. I dug up about 16 little ones last year which was easy. They were all runner from the main bushes. I dug up the last 6 in the last several weeks. I just got the last one up a few days ago. It was in the back yard and it was taller than my fence and easily 5ft across. It was a total pain! Oh yeah, here are some pictures of different sorts of nandinas:
