The first one especially echoes the ideas in books that I have been reading the last five years or so. I've been realizing that I need to read them again. It's winter, now is the time to do so.
The books I have been reading stress peace and understanding, but it's quite apparent that President Truman's quote is speaking of party politics.Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
-Steve Jobs
Take a chance! All life is a chance. The man who goes furthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare.
-Dale Carnegie
One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half.
-Sir Winston Churchill
Carry the battle to them. Don't let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive. And don't ever apologize for anything.
-Harry S Truman
I think the reason that I like this last one by Truman is the last sentence. One important point made in one of my books was to never apologize for not being the person that others want you to be. You would never succeed anyway, for that's not why you are here!
