First thanks, Supreme for the thumbs up and thanks to POTS and Reiyel for hanging in there. Most of all thanks to GoPostal for your devine guidance and thanks to Herm for well, being Herm! And Scify, you're always there when "I need some backup!" Awesome!

This all happened rather abruptly so bear with me as the dust settles. This explains the lack of details at the onset.

Gopo has asked me several times to manage a server and I repeatedly declined. I was a broke-joke and didn't want the hassle of being a server manager/admin whateveryoucallit.
Things took a turn for the better for me this past month, jobwise and I'm back and better than I've been in the past few years! When I saw that he was scrapping the whole thing, I stepped in to hopefully keep this thing alive to some degree.

Having worked with Gopo on his test server and having him value my opinions and input made me really appreciate all the little details that went into UMH. It needs to be out there on its own for the UT world to experience. This is why I chose the return of UMH.

While the maps' list remains the same, we changed the Mod to one of the later UMH mods. There is no collision prevention, no deemer-shoot-down protection and a few other "niceties" removed. I think the games need to be a little more challenging but not impossible.

I'll be working to get up-to-speed on the whole thing and start cleaning up and reorganizing but for now, let's just hunt some monsters.

A few things I have noticed,
The DM and IG DM seem to have some weird lag. I have learned that there may be an incompatability with the MH mod. If anyone has any ideas, I'm glad to hear them.

There still are some crap maps: locked throughways, impossible endings and buggy monsters and them goofy silver jets. If you come across these maps, let me know & we'll trash em.

This is Herm's forum and I don't want to intrude here so keep in touch via email - it's on the server tag.

I'm sorry, I should have updated you all sooner. Gopo & I have moved everything to a new server (half the price!). Gameservers.com wouldn't let us transfer ownership.

Report! Tell us how it's going for you so far? Still underwater or getting a grip with it all? It's all about repetition if you ask me. You spend forever figuring out how to do it once but then you do it a few more times and it's easy. Just the new stuff sucks. The old stuff is a breeze.

I need to add a spell checking mod to this forum.

Well it's been running ok so far but tonight, I've noticed a lot of maps failing to load.
Gopo has been helping me and I'm learning a lot of stuff.
If only I had more spare time... :roll:

Having maps not load is normal at first especially after any changes which is why I don't like to make them too often. Figuring out why they failed and fixing them to work right is half of the server admin role alone. Hang in there Fuzz and don't hesitate to ask for help.

I figured it out.
I FTP'ed the whole shebang from Gopo's location to my harddrive and then up to the new server.
While I verified the total amount of files matched, I neglected to check the total SIZE.
Did a side by side compare and had to re-upload over 70 maps, textures and sounds.
No errors were in the log because UT "found" the files it needed it just couldn't DO anything with them.
Thank, Scify for helping me "test" it tonight!
That was fun! Proxy Moon - Holy CHIT what a long map!

Well the FBF (Fuzz_Ball's Funhouse) server still crashes so I've taken Gopo's advice and re-uploaded the whole dang thing.

I still don't know why it insists on defaulting to CTF-Face but that's no big deal.

I'm also working on updating the mod to Mahem V8.

As it stands today, the CTF, DM & iDM maps are temporarily off the mapvote list.

Don't worry, I've just run out of time for now. They will be back as soon as I get the mod running but right now, I'm off to work.

The MH part is up. Play it and let me know if it crashes.
