After I made that post yesterday I went to the website for my local cable company, and to the Bell Canada website. Because I already have a landline with Bell I might qualify for a half decent discount with a phone/internet bundle, but good bandwidth now starts at $100 a month at regular prices around here no matter who your ISP might be. That really [annoys] me.
One of the cell phone companies called "FIDO" has been offering internet access off of their network, but their useless website had no information about how much bandwidth was available.
My old age security starts next April. So................

I found a card of CR2032 batteries I bought some time ago to replace a battery in one of my Timex watches.a nameless entity wrote:I still have been mulling over possible ideas and fixes regarding getting my Dell 8200 going again. Lately I wondered if the battery might be low again. I recall that I saw a message regarding that once or twice, but when I moved the power cord to an "always on" slot on my power bar, the messages stopped. I wasn't too convinced that this might be the culprit until I saw this thread today:

The battery is at least five years old, so it's worth a shot.
I checked the voltage level on one of them and found it to be at 3.3V, so I replaced the battery on the mobo.
It did not work.
One last thing to try, assuming it just might be a bios thing: resetting the bios via the jumper. That's worth a shot too. And if/when that fails, I'll ..... [swear, and then go have a beer]

Oh, okay. Eventually.Hermskii wrote:Buy a new PC.
If I could just coax the old PC back to life, job one would be to write down email addresses. I don't back up often. My bad.
