well if i remeber correctly, herm said he had reduce the crases to only a couple a day, so i dont think he would want to go with the remove the maps option, but this limit mod sounds interesting

Herm wants the servers to run without hiccups and without crashing.

That point you made about line of sight is very interesting.
I am 90% sure that a mod will be overridden by the mylevel package though.

Fixing the maps is possable option but would take a great deal of time.
I would just fly with an occasional crash. But maps that are consistent crashers should be removed. :?

Wow... lots of info here and I don't even know whwre to start or where I started actaully. Let's fall back to a defensive posture. Here it goes. I'm not a mapper or any of that stuff and I don't run servers from a third party location because I don't know how to and I don't feel I'd have actual real control over the servers like I do here at home.

Derdak2rot made that LostInTime map and is actually considered at least by me one of the best if not the best MH mappers around. I'd love to see what he says about the network errors his map might cause. I think he is actually unaware as a great many othermappers may be.

I'm very pleased to hear that anther MH server is live now and I wish I could rememeber what needs to be addressed about it. I don't any info about a time-out that causes it to become invivible to the master servers but I'll be happy to share files so peeps can copy my settings. Yes, I do want as few as possible mods to run the server. Any server. I want 1 ini file to control everything and as I said in a different thread, I'll send the ones I use and what features I want from each mod to gopostal in the hopes he can build them into a single mod.

I agree with K that I think settings in the maps will over-write settings in the mod. I would hope and think the mod would control everything though. Yes, crashes have reduced but that may have to do with the maps that are being played. There are only about 10 maps that I'd 9intensionally remove from the server to avoid crashes. What is that one where you start by falling in water and the hud is always missing for several minutes? I do support altering the entire code if needed to fix MH.

Rejoining a sleeping server sounds like a serer issue to me gopostal. Talk to the peeps that run the server for you. I know nothing about the portal gun to date so I'll stay hushed. Skillz has a giant ego, almost as big as mine, and he can be hard to deal with sometimes but he DOES have the best collection of MH stuff and has contributed more towards MH than any single person or website ever in my opinion. In fact, when it's all over, I suspect it will be me and him as the last ditch efforts place to get MH related stuff. He is very far ahead of me right now and has been for years. I hate to admit it but it is true. He seems like a pretty good guy though we have not always agreed on everything. Hopefully he is all about numbers and me being all about people. He may be all about people too but if so, I know I'm more about people at least. Skillz should have lots of data for you but my data comes with cream and sugar.

Troubled maps will likely stay unless they just really wreck stuff. There is never one fix for everything in UT and exspecially UT-MH. Still, it would be nice to reduce mods on any server and increase stability.

All I would like is a single mod intead of 10 that resolves issues and increases gameplay.
