If you're up for the challenge and want to handle some light weight, I know
of someone wanting to prove and redeem himself.
Then again I know your talent and it wouldn't be much of a challenge for you.

I had the opportunity to play with Klownz on his server the other day. I joined it while using a PC that I had in my garage. Here is the set up:

HP Desktop computer with a Celeron 700 processor.
ATI All In Wonder 7500 video card
256mb PC100 SDRAM
Network connection is a Linksys wireless network card
Operating system is Windows ME

Klownz had no mercy and utterly destroyed me for 5 minutes while I tried to tell him what wasn't working properly on his server that I could see from being on it. I had a max frames per second of 17-20 and a ping of about 170 on a gigantic map I never saw before. He was surprised how easy it was to kill me and actually asked if I was actually Hermskii, the Godfather of Redeemer servers.

To that I say yes it was actually me and no I'm not the Godfather of this stuff. I'm more like a grandfather with Schwantz being the Godfather of this type of modded server.

Whenever I get owned like that, I always feel like playing and practicing more to compete and totally own everyone again but the main word here is again. I have already been here and done that back in the beginning for 5+ years and have enjoyed being one of the King Dogs for longer than I deserved. The thrill just isn't there for me anymore like it used to be. Now I prefer to just play in a lazy manner and watch others and see if I can help people or get them to join the forum.

Sorry this King Dog is now just an old dog. I do however hope to get to play on many of these newer servers like MEAT's, K's, Klownz's, and Hook's. While there, I'd prefer to be considered more like Oscar De Le Hoya is now. Recently he had his own butt handed to him in a fight by a much younger and faster upcoming champion who happens to be the pound for pound best fighter in the world. Oscar was bigger, had far more experience, a longer reach and was naturally stronger being Oscar came down to fight at 145 from 160 and Manny Paciou came up from 130 to 145. Oscar didn't even win 1 round and quit in his corner after the 8th round being aware he had no chance vs this newer, younger, and faster champion. Oscar had done the same thing to older champions when he was young and what goes around comes around. He got clobbered!

I'm OK with getting clobbered so enjoy it I guess but know that it isn't fair to compare yourself to me when you are all at your best while I'm a mere shell of my former AWESOMENESS. But let's go ahead and compare what I think would happen should any of you have been able to play me at your best while I was at my best. I think we'd both trade wins back and forth and that it would be great fun. The more good players you have playing at the same time changes this game dramatically! Everybody has their favorite maps and their certain strengths. In all of my time playing UT, I have NEVER seen 1 person utterly rule when a server was full of great players. That is what <SRA> used to be back in 2000 - 2003 or so. Almost everybody was awesome all of the time. There were always at least 8 GREAT players on every map. Everyone agreed on the game speed, the rules, the maps, the mods, the skins, the voice packs and simply everything. We all learned on the same set of settings. This is no longer possible because everyone here has different servers with different settings from speed to gravity control to frags to bot skill levels. This is why <SRA> will never be rivaled by any of us ever.

It is up to us to get people playing again and regularly on at least one of these severs or get these servers to run more like each other to keep it fair when actually trying to compete. Have fun all! That is the main thing.

Sorry. I did not know. Like I said, the connection was so crappy for me I was sort of in shock to be honest. I never ever join a server when my ping is higher than 13. Hehehe. Yes, Fuzz_Ball was there too as I recall.

Worry not. I will never connect again from that PC. Next time maybe I'll be able to see and possibly play too. It cold too that night in my garage.

Don't get me wrong. My personal gaming PC isn't so bad. It has a XP3000 processor called a Sempron. Yes it is old by todays standards but it gets it done well enough. The PC in the garage was more of an old project PC just to see if I could get Windows ME to run ok. It runs alright I guess. The killer is the crappy Celeron 700 in it. Wireless game playing always sucks too. I don't have a hard wire connection in the garage so the many PCs that are in the garage which are all crappy must connect wirelessly. Consider this: the Celeron 700 is the 2nd best PC in the garage right now out of about 8 computers. The best is a Pentium III 800. Sad really.

I already posted about it on this forum somewhere. I have found bad sectors on my new hard drive for the servers AND just found out today that I have had the wrong BIOS installed for a pretty long time! To add to the agony, I've also just determined that at least one of the 3 sticks of Crucial 512mb P133 CAS 2 ram is bad. I have to send them all back to get replaced. The server will be on and off for the next few weeks. More off than on.
