I'm now at 800x600 and I can finally type and see chat without changing screens.
The only problem is I'm still dizzy...but I think it's the alcohol.

Hmmm yes some monitors have better resolution but it is also the size of the screen that matters too.a nameless entity wrote:Are some montiors a lot sharper than others? I've never been able to see much improvement in detail past 800x600. Below that, with each step up in resolution the improvement is obvious. But going up to 1024x768 and 1280x1024 from 800x600 never shows me much more detail. It always seems so insignifigant. I run 1024x768 in my games only because the monitor doesn't have to readjust itself when I quit back to the desktop at that resolution.

Nameless.....
I read your post about not being able to run in greater res then 800x600. I was only able to run in that res with an old 'top of the line'voodoo card. You prob have major vid probs running other 3D games? Reason for this is that the glide driver was designed for UT to run with Voodoo based cards...but we all know what happened there as Nvidia bought out voodoo and made the video card race a 2 man race...(Nvidia and ATI) I have a ATI X850 platnium card and use the open GL driver with a DVI cable it runs pretty smooth in 1280x1024... you just may need more horsepower.
