You know, the one that had no translocator, and you got only 25 redeemers for ammo. When you ran out you had to go pick up the redeemer ammo that was scattered about the map. The lack of a translocator and the need to fetch ammo every so often might make a cool change on those huge maps that MEAT runs on his server.
Wow, I did not know that a ammo mod existed.
And it's something I suggested to Hermskii years ago.
Please send it my way I'd love to give it a try.

Actually

Actually, there is a good chance that I don't have that version of it anymore. We did use it for a little while on CG but went back to full ammo as I recall. I'll hunt for it. I haven't even tried yet. Knowing me, I have it somewhere or a variant.

Spawn and bot kills where the name of the game.
If you could learn maps/spawn points and find a good advantage
point you had a good chance to win.

And we all had our favorite maps and we all sprayed strategically.
Strategically meaning spraying at spawn points.
Plus it didn't hurt being one of the first to enter a map.
All true enough, and even in the days of SRA it could be like that, if the house was not full. I used to practice and practice in the maps that were the most interesting or should I say most difficult to win in when the house was full..... at a time when no one was around and there were only bots to kill. This helped a lot to learn the maps and spawn points, but to my dismay any clever techniques I figured out simply did not work once I was playing against all human opponents. After another long period of learning, I found that I could occasionally win, but usually had to take satisfaction from being able to claw my way up to 3rd or 4th place. No mean feat in a map like Deck 11 or Deck 9 when the house was already full with all of the best players present.
I should also mention that we didn't just spray. Usually it was a combination of techniques that would win, depending on the map and where you happened to have spawned in it.
You need to get out more nameless...VIKA-RUSSIA was one of the guys I ran off at CG.

On the other hand UTStar is a good spawn/bot killer.
Yes VIKA will often disappear, but she is only 13, and plays at a time when it is really late for her. Maybe she gets dragged off to bed by her parents.
This kid is still learning the game it is true. I watched her using one of my old favourite spots in Gothic the other night. She defended it better than I ever could back when I was new. If she sticks it out she may become a threat someday, despite her bad ping.

UT Star is ready now to play at your place, if she ever tires of the smaller spam maps.

p.s. I'm glad to see that you're interested in that mod that Schwantz used on his server. I think it might be fun to try.

HERM, can you still contact Schwantz by email? I'll bet he still has that mod, if you cannot find your copy of it. :)
I'm a man........but I can change........if I have to........I guess

Trying

Post by Hermskii » Wed Dec 17, 2008 6:42 pm

I am doing somethings right now with the "other" forum and when I'm done I will be trying to contact everybody via a mass email. The forum isn't preped for me to do it yet so I can't.

I will soon though or I'll do it the old fashioned way. Yes, I'll be able to reach Schwantz eventually. Mahatma has already proven to be hard to reach.

Although I lose a lot, I'm glad MEAT still finds it fun enough to WHUP my AZZ. It's a learning experience.

This is the only context where it's safe to say, it's good to play with MEAT.
