Yo MEAT, I was on today...with a newbie...did what you did. I offered to show him some secret places and stuff...and he blew me off....in not so nice words. So I kicked his newbie a$$ and he left. I tried buddy ! Mind you, there are some that will take the help and actually thank you.

You did the right thing...kind of...
I agree, some people just don't want the help but as
a better player we need to win the newer player to our side.
We need to caress or massage some egos.
Feel them out...make them feel wanted.
And if that doesn't work...then blow the CRAP out of them.

I also think this is true for our regulars...I can't tell you how many times I've entered
a game and players have left. We, as better players, need to win back our regulars.
They know we are better players, we have nothing to prove...we just need to show we care.

hehehe...after I embarrassed a regular over at CG I went ahead and let him win one.
Basically I let him kill 30 bots before I did.
Anyway...after I let him win I said "Good Job"...to which he said nothing...then he left.
Talk about your weak players...geez. And no I won't point him out.

I know what you mean Flash. I try and make conversation with some and they will talk back. Others just want to sit atop a building and hit the fire button and hope for the best.

I'm getting to know most of the regulars in CG, MRS and RVH.

i can count on one hand the amount of dignified players ive played on ut99. There are way too many egos, too many ppl that NEED to win and too many ppl who take it personally.
The day you can say to yourself...its just a game, and winning isnt everything, is the day you become a dignified player....

Yeah I'd like to know how to enter the secret room in DM-BaySniper... You know, the one with the pictures of the FBI dudes... I've checked out every single teleporter, I've tried shooting at everything in the upper darn room, I've even farted, still nothing has happened.

I lost today against a couple players but I'm not sure I got beat?
Both were familiar with spawn points...so of course all they did was spray at bots.
So I stood to the side and watched.
And after the 2 min ordeal they congratulated each other as if they accomplished
some notable deed.
Well yes, their score was better than mine so they were happy about that but all they did was
spray at spawn points and kill bots.
Is that what new players are learning and old players are still doing?
