someone put a post on how they added monsters to maps before they discovered MH, I can't find the post anywhere

Are you wanting to as a mapper or as someone just playing and spawning them in?
As a mapper open your map, then go to actor>pawn>scriptedpawn>yourmonster click it once then go back to the map. Find your spot, right click, select monster and it will show. Prepivot height it usually correct but you can orient it any way you want. Also you can right click the monster and edit it's properties.
If you just want to summon while playing:

ahhhh, I already know all that stuff, (oh boy do I already know the monster stuff
)misunderstanding.
I meant I'm sure someone had a post about turning animals/creatures/monsters on or off in all gametypes?...I'm sure Hook or someone said something...

You'd have to spawn them into the map with some code. Really any sort of mod that does that accesses the same thing you are doing by summoning, it just creates rules and such for doing it. I've seen several mods over the years for this.

- I've seen also a sort of Invasion mod for UT99 on a dU server once in the past, but unfortunately I don't know the name.
- I've got a newer version (v3) of the Badnews mutator but unfortunately I can't find it on the Web anymore. The guys on UT-files keep on posting old stuff.
However not a great mutator.

So I was just about to reply to this and suggest MonsterSpawn which I've actually used on CG before (fun times) and see that you already got most of your answer. Here's more of your answer:

I spent a couple of hours tinkering with the mod. I was trying to rebuild the configuration file from the back-end but it's very involved. It looks to me like this is unfinished, although very close. It's a funky combination of UTJMH and Invasion from 2K4. I attached the U file but my stuff I've made to fire it up I'm going to keep until I get it to work.

If I had a spare computer, more money and less common sense I'd be tempted to host a server for this mod

So far, the only guys I've seen using that mod were the Destination Unreal folks.
