I like 'em in Team games if you don't have enough real players.
It is fun to actually "direct" them with orders!
They can be tactically useful indeed!

There is a "clown" over in that thread MEAT is displaying from UT99 org
that says he recommends having bots set on "Godlike".
What an ego he has LOL!
As if he beats them LOL!

I don't think he was calling you a clown MEAT unless you were the one who suggested setting the bots at Godlike. I have found that setting them to Godlike doesn't make them better. It makes them worse in fact because they see and shoot at you too fast when they come around a corner with the redeemer mod in use. They aren't smart enough to realize that the deemer is larger than a bullet so the deemer always hits the corner, explodes and kills the bot. When set to Godlike, the bot scores are always about -50 by end of the game. They never win. Now, if this were just a regular DM map and all the bots were set to Godlike, then I agree that the guy is a clown for suggesting it because less than 1/2 of 1% of UT players can win in that situation. End of line.

Yes, Godlike can be a little harsh.
So through trial and error I have my bots set at Masterful.
Not to crazy but at the same time they do have an attitude.

Thats the one cool thing about ut99, its has more settings for bots than the it's later incantations! Deadsun had them doing all kinds of crazy stuff on his old server!

! I think that he gave them crack too LOL that helped ! LMAO

MEAT - I was referring to a "clown" over on that "other" site - Not you!

I once set up about 14 of my bots to represent as best I could family members of mine!
And 2 more nali warcows were our 2 cats!
I adjusted each of their looks and how they behaved as close to each family member as I could.
It was very much like playing paintball with family members!

I always had "Simon" (an old Siamese cat that is still with us and my buddy) as the one to watch my back!

Simon was a deadeye such as Tamerlane and was also very agile.
It was pretty fun actually!
Bots I believe are Very Under used.
Each one of them can be set up custom in many ways - above and beyond their factory settings!

Siamese cats are mean.Every time meet one try to crawl me. I love cats & dogs.Had both same time. Three dogs and one cats. I like get other cat be cousin of Siamese called Burmese.I had one before.My mother didn't my sister and I have one . Burmese won her over.

Hook, I was just kidding...

Although I did have my bots set at Godlike at one time.
In fact I think there is a post or two here with people complaining
that my bots were to aggressive at that time.

WOW...someone is a MEAT Hater?
I know I know... a lot of people actually are because I speak my peace and question what is wrong.
But those guys over at UT99.org took my "Bot" Topic off the forum.
A post/survey that questioned the longevity or necessity of bots.
And the funny thing is the survey found that bots were nothing more than a filler.
Which everyone knows is what I have said since day one.
Hmm....I smell a conspiracy.

Really? They took it off? I doubt it. Do a search for all post from you. Tell us if you find it. If they did remove it, put up a post saying what they did and have a poll asking if what they did is right. I try to never remove a post unless it gets ugly and destructive. I don't think I ever nuked a post without the original poster requesting that I remove it.

I contacted the admin and he didn't seem to concerned.

I for one am NOT very impressed with UT99.org!!!

They are all for one there!
Quite a bit of arrogance & negativity also!

Not a very friendly place if you ask me!

It seems like a decent forum...a lot of good Topics being talked about.
As for myself I only started 2 Topics while I was there. So the information I added and have seen is still fresh in my mind. The first was about the game "Redeemer" and I also mentioned the 4 server currently running Redeemer. And it was in this Topic that the use of bots during a game was mentioned. I said something in return about my thoughts on bots and someone else said I should start a Poll/Topic on bots. And then a second person mentioned something and said I should start a Poll on bots. That's the only reason why I started the "Bot" Topic in the first place.
But check this out.....the admin over at UT99.org basically thinks I'm paranoid and he could careless...so I go back to retrieve the posts made by the 2 people that started this whole thing about me starting a Poll. And "poof" the posts are gone. There is no mention that I should start a Poll. They are gone/deleted....lol What the hell?
Wow, someone over at UT99.org really has it out for me. Either that or they didn't like the fact that a majority of people playing UT don't see the need for bots. Hmm...I know a couple people that are bot lovers...I wonder if they are also part of the UT99.org administration or staff team?
It's funny, I really could careless about this whole situation but I'll probably just start the Topic again just out of spite...
