Recruiting Newbies

Some clan members are pretty cool and have been around long enough to know that everyone dies in one way or another.
But sometimes you'll run across a newbie clan member, some new hot shot that thinks he is tough chit.
This is the guy that tells you to "FukOff", after you telefrag him once, then he leaves.
A guy like this usually becomes one of my fan members..

Yeah, the newbies are fun to get. But like Meat said, alot of the regulers are pretty cool.

Whatever you do though, Please do NOT discourage newbies!
They are our new "blood" in our game!
Help them become challenging players!

Brother I'm all about recruiting.
Newbies (if there is such a thing to UT) are the future.
Trust me, I embrace anyone and everyone that is new to my server.
But there is a grace period.

After that everyone is fair game.
As for newbies I have plenty...it's the regulars that won't stay around.
I'll join a game and half the room will leave.
Maybe I should change my name to BOOO.

If I see a crowd forming I will leave.

It might! I try not to win if I can help it unless it is just a thorough whoooping I'm handing out because there isn't enough challenging players. In that event, I like to run up the score and get to within a few points of winning and then I go telefrag hunting. On games like that, I either end up winning by 1 or losing by 1.

In the end, it is better not to win on your own server or at least keep it close. This is getting harder and harder being my skills are nothing compared to what they were. Mastery of well known maps and run and gunning keeps me in the top 25% of players currently. Sad really being that I feel I used to stay in the top 5%.

Talk to and help newbs at all cost. Saying hello and using their actual name while chatting is the best thing you can do to help generate and cultivate their addiction to your own server. Trust me. I know what I'm talking about!

You are so right Hermskii!

I used to be very good at UT also, but age and lack of time to keep in practice is taking its toll for sure!
I just don't get time to play as often anymore - Not nearly as often as I would like.
I am not as "agile" as I used to be - especially as I usually play UT after 11:30 at night until wee hours.
Just get so tired now - not like it used to be just a few years ago!

My equipment is also quite old and ragged.

I still have a dirty old "ball" mouse!
