I just finished the mod scripting that will set up the teleporting. I'll run a quick home server test tomorrow, but I know it will be fine. Whats cool is that the spots can be designated so each person can appear in their house or in a central gathering spot.

You gotta thank Boss for this. For a long time I struggled with how to "lock" a house in 2k4 builder mod and when it was mentioned on the forum a couple weeks ago I pulled it out and mulled on it again. The mod is called "SendMePacking" and it will be included inside the map file. I might even develop this into a full release mod as it would be quite useful in the builder community. You could config your mod to warp you to inside your house and have the door open out only, effectively locking your house up.

Perhaps u can change the house a little so it isn't really the same one as MH-Winter.
Just other colors and stuff.

That's why I posted the cottage. Every single surface on it is changeable. You decide what you want :)

Do you mean you specify changes in the maps file or can you actually customize your house in-game?

And how are these keys going to work?
And where will the zombies live if there are no caves?
And will the rest of the city still be the daytime fun and nighttime fear as before?
And will this village dominate the map and stop it being the dark arena it should be?
And how many more of these questions can I come with before even I stop objecting?
And I just found one, how are you going to get the church to work if it's still there?
And you say you like feedback so I'm assuming you don't mind me doing this everytime someone mentions DC?
And can you have pickups in your house?
And please don't add the boxes it'll make half the MHM guys into snipeheads.

Both, with the emphasis on the latter mainly. I updated some textures in the city portion so it's not so incredibly bland, but overall no changes to the city portion's layout or buildings.

I made a script that compares your passkey to a list saved on the server. If your passkey matches you are sentpacking to the new spot you wanted. It's something like a personal teleporter, but the tricky part was setting the keys to be on the server and not in the map. That way no one can uncache the map or script and get them. To use it you simply put something into the console and you are instantly there. To other players, you simply disappear.

There is still the lava section and the squarish end section. I just tied that into the main tunnel entrance. You'll see what I mean when I release a play beta.

Yes. The village may or may not, I'm not sure. I'm thinking not. I probably will set controls in there for everything to be adjusted by players:day, night, weather, sounds, etc.

The village is totally and completely seperate from the map. You can not get there any way but via sendmepacking. As far as as the players know that aren't here, it won't exist or affect the normal map in any way.

The church mesh is shot. I cant fix it without finding the map it originally came from.

Not at all. In fact I depend on it. Countless times people will mention something even offhanded that will make me go "Oh yeah, I didn't think about that." and consequently I make improvements.

I'm not going to judge people over what they want in their cottage. So long as it's not patently offensive, it's up to you as to what you want added. You wouldn't believe the questions I've gotten so far... :oops:

Yep, remember we don't want any stuff that could be offensive or against the rules :mrgreen:

I just have one question, I understand only the "owner" of the house can enter to it since the server will identify the player. However, how can I show my house to others? I'd like only me to enter my house, but I would also like to invite others if possible.

It's totally up to you. When you jump into the village by default you will be in your own house. People who want a bit of privacy can have doors that only open out. Once you open your door, it will stay open for a length of time, letting people in.

OFC, if you want a standard door, it's your call. To each their own :)
