House of Hermskii is shutting down...
Hey folks,
This forum, the website itself and all of the files of everyone I'm hosting right now are going away. Don't panic! I have decided to go ahead and move this forum, the website itself and all of the redirect files I host currently to a new location. The new location already exists and can be found at www.MonsterHuntMayhem.com so give it a quick look when you get a chance. It is still under construction but it doesn't have to be pretty to work great! I don't know when this will happen exactly as it is still in the planning phase. The new site will be bigger and better than this one in every aspect. It will also maintain a better up-time record and provide faster downloads. I hope to be able to transfer this forum in its entirety. I won't do any of it until I know it can be done properly which I have little doubt about so far.
So I just wanted to give you a heads up that this is secretly going on while you sleep. It won't hurt a bit. Trust me. Thanks all!

K being used already? What?
So i tried to retrieve the password "maybe i logged in before and forgot"

btw, this is kind of bothering me. . .
Just asking,
because i know it is not free to run a public server.
How do we know this is a good idea to move everything over there?
How do we know it won't shut down suddenly because of lack of funds in the future?
I know right now the place is secure cause Herm runs it from his home.
We put it all on a real server and cost is a factor.
Planet Monster Hunt was shut down for just this reason, funds.
Players don't want to pay for this stuff when it is free elsewhere.
I'm mostly concerned about longevity.
Adds on the website could help but won't carry the full weight.
Just wondering if these basis are being covered.
I dont want to build an empire again and see it flushed.

Yep
I thought that gopostal wanted to stay in the background with this information like a silent partner but if he wants to "come out" (hehehe) that is fine with me!
Yes, gopostal and I have discussed all of this stuff already and we have some pretty big plans! I have to admit that every thought that concerned K had already gone through my head too. I like to pride myself on knowing when I'm dealing with good people which is exactly how we have such a great group here. "The Force is strong with this one" is what I detected during my discussions with gopostal. I strongly feel that once we have completely assimilated him and added his biological and technological distinctiveness to our own, his culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is Futile!
I want everyone to relax about all of this. I will still have my own web space aside from this one with gopostal and I'm trying to do some things to make sure everything done here and there are replicated between the 2 locations. Yes, running a website is far cheaper and more a pain in the but than you think. We do all owe gopostal a thanks though for this opportunity. Thanks gopostal!

I have 2.63 gigs of really good UT files.
All different kinds of mods mutes and tools.
I think there are allot of maps in there also.
Yep , I have 2 zips of MH maps , another pack that has all the UTJ Maps and i have herms map pack as well.
I have at least 100 maps to put up for download.
hmm.
Can you incorporate some kind of description box into the DL pages next to each file so people will know what they are looking at.
Allot of the file names don't describe what the file does.

Opinion
It is my opinion that the downloads section should have a few parent directories built into it real quick. Examples:
Download section should have in that folder others folders named:
Mods
Maps
Tools
Bonus Packs
Tutorials
Patches
Utilities
Yes, I have already spoken to gopostal about eventually having a section in the downloads section that have both the description and a installation instruction set listing predicate dependancies and additional notes about usage.
