I have been tracking the IP addresses of the spam bots and found it is about the same 3-4 all of this time. I thought I was banning them by IP but apparently when you delete the account as well, it clears the IP from being banned which is stupid. I can't deactivate or ban by IP AND nuke all of the spam post at the same time. Stupid! Anyways, Ithink I have banned a few of the actual IP addresses now so hopefully this crap will slow down.

Note to all that just because you see somebody (like me) on a messenger program, it doesn't mean I'm dying to hear from you. I think about twice a week is enough to be honest. Just suck that in a little and consider not making that quick hello each and every single time I'm on a messenger program. Thanks!

I run phpBB3 also and I just De-Activate the offending user.
That removes them from the viewable member roster and revokes all their permissions and access to the forums, but keeps them (barely) as a (banned) member!
They show up on the Deactivated list in my ACP (Admin Control Panel).
I usually also change their Password just to make sure!
They can always be re-activated by YOU the admin IF you ever want to for some reason.

Yeah, there are still a few registered bots but if they don't post I don't care. That one had zero posts but I nuked it anyways for you MEAT. I'll do the semi annual clean up on the others soon even though they did not ever post.
