Update

Post by Hermskii » Wed Dec 05, 2007 11:26 pm

I came home and my router was locked up. I cleared that and added memory to the server. Booted up to a blue screen of death. Put everything back the way it was and I can still only boot into blue screen of death.

What does this mean?

I can't get either of the servers to turn on because as soon as it gets to the welcome screen, the server freezes up. I'll let you know when I have figured it out and get them started again. Later!

ahh, sorry, I posted a question about this in a different thread.
But blue screens of death=no good. Btw, I feel the need to remind you to mail your rebate offer soon. Don't forget.

Suckage

Post by Hermskii » Thu Dec 06, 2007 12:28 am

Suckage is my only answer so far. I have tested the power supply and it is good. I have tried to get 3 other hard drives to boot and none of them will. I changed out the ram. Nothing. Sometimes it boots and sometimes it boots with no monitor so I can't see har far it boots. I tried to reformat a hard drive and as soon as I hit the boot from CD option during the boot up, my monitor dies. This happened on several hard drives. I think my mobo is dead. I'm not sure.

I am stumpped and too tired to keep trying. I'll try some more tomorrow night. Later!

SUCKAGE

Post by Hermskii » Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:41 pm

I haven't had time to try to figure out the deal with the server box. I will be trying to get to it and fix it this weekend. Kort is right. This is a great time to just rebuild from scratch. I need to it boot up period before I can do anything though. I don't have the money right now to buy new stuff to fix the server so it may be down a while. Sorry. No worries. I'll get it back up soon enough. Until then, check out other places and see if there are things we need to have added here. Don't forget Korts server either. It is already much like how everybody wants it to be. I'll make her some webspace for her high speed redirects soon. Later!

The rebuild has begun. It is going nicely. I don't know what happened with the server originally. I have the original hard drive back in it again and I have changed the ram out. It seems to running rock solid so far. Now I have to start building the game part now and it is the part that will take forever and ever but it will be worth it I hope.

I'm just happy my awesome ABIT KT7A ver 1.3 motherboard isn't dead as I had suspected originally. This mobo is by far the best mobo I have ever owned based on scalability and ease of use and overcloackability. Consider it started with a Duron 600mhz processor. Then I put in a Thunderbird 1000mhz. Then a Palamino 2100mhz. Then I put in a XP-M 3000+. It made it from Pentium I technology all the way through Pentium IV technology all on the same mobo! This PC that I use for the servers is now about 9 years old already and it can still easily run with the big boys! Later!

I built all my computers. But i don't ever keep up with what is current as good #s wise so i always end up buying lack luster parts.

One time i thought i was getting a Gforce4 and i accidentally bought the MX. :(

You made a bad in the spelling of one of the login details in the post, just wondering if it was only in the post.
