Warning! If you have a PC using the older style PS2 mouse or a laptop with a touch pad for a mouse then listen to this. Do not download the Microsoft Hardware Update called IdeaCom Technology Inc. - Input - IdeaCom HID Touch Screen (PS/2) MOUSE.
If you do, your mouse will stop working. Don't freak out if it is too late. The fix is easy. Get a USB mouse. Plug it in to the PC that the mouse stopped working on. Go to Device Manager. Go to Human Interface Devices. Find the IdeaCom entry and go to its properties. Select driver and then select rollback. Reboot.
That should fix it! Microsoft and that IdeaCom company should be even more ashamed of this update than Microsoft's XP Service Pack 3 update.
