I accepted a new job. The new money is enough to make my kid's private school seem free so I'm very happy. I'll be in a real team environment too again so I'm thrilled! I do much better when working with others. Peace out all!

Do you want to adopt any new family members? The thought about having a job that almost makes you feel like you send you kid to private school for free must be nice. My wife and I just went shopping and we were talking about how it would be nice if we wanted to have pork chops or steak for a meal, we could afford to get these items without our budget telling us that we can't. I mean I would not eat steak every night, but it would be nice to be able to have these items in my freezer and have them when the desire was there.

Thanks all. Now I have to focus on my debt. Once I get it cleared out I might feel middle classish.

Sorry for you David in that it is so tough but it sounds like you got a good wife and whoever has a good wife wins automatically. Keep going after the other things you need to do to make your life better and it will come. Hang out with successful people and watch what happens then too. You'll be amazed at how fast you can turn your own life in a preferred direction just by hanging out with the people that are already the way you want to be. Good luck!

How's the new job going Herm?

How's your situation David?

Money-wise, my wife and I have been all over the place most of my life was hand to mouth.
For some years we were both making good money combined well over 100 grand a year.
Then we both lost our jobs - we started over a few years ago making less than 1/3 what we were.
Luckily, we have lead practical and prudent lives so we were sitting with very little debt.

I'm good. I have found a few ways to get rid of my debt or at least manipulate it in such a fashion that it doesn't hurt me nearly as badly each month. Wish me luck!

How's your situation David?

Well we try the best we can. We try to live within a budget and try to pay off debt. I think my wife and I do OK, but I do wish selfishly to have more leeway in our budget for groceries. But we try to get what is needed for a family of 4.

What is your grocery bill budget if I may ask? For us, for a family of 4, our alloted budget for 2 weeks of groceries is $250, and there are times we are at that limit or sometimes over that.

Here you go. You can feel better now! We do a family of 4 groceries with less than that. Feel better? We eat pretty good too.

It is just the wife and I so we have less than you peeps of course.
We do not have a set amount - we just go get what we need, when we need it.
$30 here and $150 there.
Steaks are very seldom, but not because we can't afford a few - we just don't think of eating them that often.
Once in a while I go get a NY Strip or a great Rib Eye and eat it.
(My wife isn't big on meat at all excepting Chicken and Salmon, etc.)
We do a lot of Brown Rice seasoned, and also seasoned pasta, including regular spaghetti too.

Of course I (my wife and I ) have limited ourselves by where we live. Some things are more expensive here than it is where there is competition. But that is our choice.... sometimes I want to hit myself in head for that decision but, the reason for that decision is for the kids so.............
