You cannot use Winrar to open umod files.

You should fix your file associations so the umods will install themselves with a double click Or . . .

You use a umod extractor to open the umod and put the contents where they go manually.

I use it all the time because i would rather see what i am installing and make sure things go to the right folder when i install mods.
The program works excellent. It lets you view entire contents just like a zip program "like winrar"

Moved

The reson that happened I bet was because you installed UT and then moved it from it's original spot. Am I right? That always disassociates Ut in the registry and that problem starts to happen.

H꣣Fï®è wrote:I have a CD with UT on it and if u open the CD in (This Computer) you get only a map. I copied that map to C:/.
I've not the setup in it.
Its just copy and you're done.
I have another CD the original (Game of the year) version, but thought the issue was still there.
But with the UMOD extracter it works fine so I dont go try else things.
But thanx all for your help.
It is not a good idea to copy or move an install of UT. Files end up corrupted this way, and cause all kinds of problems.

If you want to make UT run right every time install fresh from the origional disk only. An original disk will never be the cause of any problems.

Man if you google the name of the mod usually 5 places to DL pop up on the list.
There is also this link :

Do me a favor Hellfire and reduce the size of your signature and reupload your signature so we don't have to scroll sideways to read your post. I can't seem to control the size of anything on this forum like most forum admins can.

There is another way to fix the file associations without reinstalling.
If you google UMOD fix it should come up. It is a little program that returns the file association to UT again. Usually fixes the problem without the need to reinstall.
