I would open up the msconfig and make sure there are not other programs loading on boot that may do effect this.

Also are you using a router? do you have ports open for this program?
What kind of mail service is it , popmail?

Switch providers.
That is ridiculous if others are having same problem.
I was thinking it was outlook till i finished reading

I have heard of outlook and express causing problems.

Though you said your anti virus will not boot at all now?
Are you sure you don't already have some kind of worm on your system?
They disable scanners frequently now.

This just sux David and I hope you find a way to resolve it. Something you might try is another computer from a friend or somebody. Set up your email account on it and see if the issue ever happens. I do get that error every once in a while but not enough to be mad about it.

Me and Herm are using Time Warner.

Service i think would be a 6 on a scale of ten.

I live practically on the UT campus so i expect slow ness from time to time.
And i get it. But mostly i have a pretty fast connection.

That suxs about rural areas man. Move Out Of The Stix!!!
