Re: Vent thread
This is another venting song that I listen to when my kids are not around. It has humor in it, at least to me has some humor to it. It is Adam Sandler.

Re: Vent thread
Well, Herm this is directed to you since you know where I am coming from concerning trying to make a car last so i do not have car payments.
Remember I spoke about replacing the fuel pump in my car, well since I replaced the fuel pump the vehicle runs like it should, but when we fueled up, it leaks.... I checked all the lines and they are tight and there were no holes. Well today I dropped the tank again and my thought was correct. The fuel pump gasket/o-ring was torn and fuel was coming up around the snap ring the holds the pump to the tank.
So, I went to both car parts businesses here in this town and they could not find the stupid part. But the last car part store did open a fuel pump kit and gave me the part from the kit and just charged me $8. The part was slightly different in size but looked like the previous one I had.
After I replaced the part and put the pump back into the tank. I then tipped the tank to see if it leaks. It did not leak. But I wanted to be sure that it would not leak due to incoming fuel from being filled or from pressure so........

I then blew some air into the fill pipe and

Gas in my right eye, mouth, and nose. Son of a female dog in heat..
I had to go and wash my eye mostly and face for several minutes.
Why does God hate me? Anyway sorry for the self pity.
After some several choice words and some sweat and tears, I got the tank back where it is supposed to and it is working again.

Re: Vent thread
I lived pretty far out in the country (20 minute drive to the city) at one time. I was siphoning gas out of the weed eater to top off the pushmower and the gas blew out of the hose and into my mouth when I tried to suck start it (go ahead, its out there now....Have your fun). Reflex caused me to swallow to clear my throat and i got a huge mouthful of gas down before I could jerk away.
I called poison control and they were cool about it. She said I'd probably barf but I'd be fine. As we were closing the call she told me "Can we discuss something off the record?" and I said "Sure" so she proceeded to tell me to buy a bag of cinnamon disks immediately. Turns out the gas gives you horrible belches and you get a big dose of gas taste in your mouth every time. The disks help kill the taste so you don't keep throwing up. Man that chick saved my life too. I was ugly sick for a couple of days but the disks worked (mostly). I couldn't stand the smell of gas for about a year. It made me really queasy every time I filled my car, lol.

Copy cat. I too have swallowed gas by accident while syphoning it from a tank to get enough to mow the yard or something like that. I was about 16. I did swallow some of the gas and I can tell you for sure that you do belch up gas smelling burps for days. Nasty. I never knew to eat stuff to try to stop that either so I suffered the full nastiness of it. I never did get sick but was nauseated at first.

Working night shift/graveyard/3rd shift sucks..
Oh well, I will stop my pouting and time to go to work.
Do I hear an Amen? Anyone who has worked night shift can understand the meaning of this.

President Obama...., I did hear one good thing that President Obama (at least to my ears) did say. He called Kanye West a "jackass" concerning Kanye's behavior at the MTV Music awards concerning the Taylor Swift incident. I applaud the president on that point. I also applaud the reaction of the people attending the music awards for their reaction to bone head move on Kanye part. Too bad they did not have bouncers and bounch his sorry excuse out of the place.
President Carter feels as that the outburst by US Rep Wilson when Wilson stated "You Lie" to President Obama during a speech was racist. I disagree and so does President Obama. I wish Carter will go back to the retirement home for former presidents.
Like or dislike the president, you are not always going to agree. Just because you disagree, does not make you racist. I applaud President Obama for him understanding that point. I did not vote for him and I disagree with a lot of his plans/choices, but he is still the President of the U.S. and I wish to respect that.

I've been hammering this concept to all my lefty whiner friends.Just because you disagree, does not make you racist
What Sen. Wilson did is NOTHING when compared to all the Dems yelling at any Bush address.
Do you also notice how all the news sources and commentaries seem to repeat the same lines and ideas at the same time. Could it be they are getting their information "suggested" to them?
Pres. Carter, get an original thought in that old head for a change. It didn't work for you in the 70's, it still isn't working today.

Re: Vent thread
My ADSL is not working, I mean, the DSL link warning light keeps on blinking and the modem can't synchronize itself. It's not the first time it happens and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. I call the customer care and they say I must leave the modem turned on and hopefully in a few days they should be able to fix the problem (please note that the problem is on their side, not mine, even the modem is a rented one, I'm not the actual owner, it's their modem).
Now my question is: I pay a monthly fee for a poor service, I'm connected via dial-up at the moment, they should allow me to use dial-up for free at the very least.

On a side note, I've received a DOCX file as an e-mail attachment, I can't open it because I don't have Office 2007 and I don't want to/can't install extra crap stuff on my laptop; well I've clearly explained that person that I can't open it and I get a reply with the same darn attached file.

One week later, the ADSL modem died due to a power cut of a millisecond (funny that the laptop remained turned on), and my provider refuses to substitute it. Have to buy a new modem/router on my own (a decent one this time, since theirs suck hard).
Have a nice day folks.

For those of you who are interested:
my CD drive was broken, I've bought an external one and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software for the old modem, I've even reset it, nothing seemed to work so I've decided to buy a new one. This time it's an ADSL2/2+ Digicom wireless router; I know it's not great but it's still better than that piece of junk of my provider, and finally I can use my ADSL again. Now I'm waiting for Windows 7 so I can finally buy a new decent laptop. Hope nothing else will break in the meanwhile...
Wow gotta love this thread, thanks David for starting it!
