Say your respects. I killed it five minutes ago.

Till some one teaches me how to run a server without it crashing every five minutes i will be giving up my server.

Good times , good riddance.

Yeah i'm drunk again. And i don't care.

Today was just the last straw.
I saw two people were playing so i jumped on via lan connection.
The server runs on the same computer i use all the time.
I joined the server and i couldn't pick up any weapons. Then i got disconnected.

I QUIT!!

K,

I hope that you decide to keep the server. I like playing there. Your additions of the portal gun and strangelove to your server were nice touches. I think on some maps, most play on those maps for goofing around on the strangeloves and portals and they forget about the monsters.

Concerning my post about posting errors was not an attack on you or Herm. It was just showing how freaky do computers can be sometimes. I was trying to see if what the longest/biggest error we could get. For all I know, my settings are wrong on my computer.

no offense taken. Has nothing to do with your error thread.
I did lock it though so all talk about the server death will be in this thread.
I am just getting no help on any forums with the problems i am having with UT. Server and ED problems.
I also might just be sick of UT.
But since it is the only game my computer can handle im stuck for now.

I wish i had money for a new graphics card. "sigh"
hell. to play the stuff i want to play i need a whole new computer. :(

No please, the server was fun, it might be the portal gun causing all those extra-errors... :( :( :(

Hey K, why don't you figure out a way to send me your server and I'll run it ad fix it from here and then send it back to you. No, I don't mean mail your computer to me. I mean to copy the entire folder to a DVD and mail it to me or something. What do you think?

My server is 774 MB (812,556,288 bytes) Without the maps folder.

I will upload it to my redirect into a rar file called "myserver"

You just unzip it and copy your maps folder into it and your ready to test.

K - did you try setting your player install to the dialup speed?
28k to 56k on your network tab.
You may even go into your ini file and set your connection to lower than 2600 that that setting defaults to.
You see, when you connect to your own server on your own machine, the connection is way too fast.
It tends to "trip" over its own feet.
You have to restrain it even more than the players on the outside of your network.
Play is best on another comp than the server (and set it slower also) but if you must play on the same machine, you gotta really constrict the bandwidth even more.
Also, you gotta lower the specs a bit too like you resolution maybe to keep your CPU from over taxing itself.
There is a "happy medium" you must find with a bit of trial and error.
I am zeroing in on my sweet spot with my server currently.
It is getting better and better. :wink:

I have K's server. I will launch it from here soon and begin the task of locating what is crashing it. This WON'T be a fast fix.

Hope everything will be fixed and ready to play on.

It's a pretty long time ago I played UT99 :shock:
I have other games I play now but UT99 I'll play soon again :wink:
