Bot kills? Hell, I just wanna blow people up (No, I'm not Al Kaida) doesn't matter WHO.
If it's some fast moving, jittering rabbit like MEAT or Klownz, it's an added bonus, win or lose.
I like the variety of play on all the servers.
Sometimes, I'm in the mood for spraying poop and eating poop-spray.
I agree some methods of play (and the maps some players REPEATEDLY choose) almost lack any opportunity for a strategy (SpaceNoxx, DragonRun). Just pop off enough rounds and you'll kill something. If you're lucky, you'll spawn in a place not inunndated with bombs. It's still Fun Stuff!
I really like the hunting/stalking of the big maps.
There's suspense of chasing down an opponent. Evading, surviving and hoping your missile is faster than their translocator. Long tense periods of silence where you worry if your footsteps are too loud, then BOOM-BLAMMO-Ka-POW you're in a mad firefight!
Small map-poopers seem to think big maps mean hide & guide. If you don't use your translocator, venture out and develop a strategic way of thinking, then that is what you're reduced to. You will be found and destroyed however. I've learned that the hard way. It's two different styles of the same game and I'm happy to play either of them.
Can some maps use more or fewer bots? Sure. Can the amount of bots be adjusted? Perhaps, but to have none at all would make things really boring if noone else is playing.
At this point though, it's small potatoes.
With so many maps to learn and new ones added all the time, it's nice to come to a "quiet" server and get a feel for the place. On the other hand, if there's a party going on at someone else's place, I'm crashin' that sucker.

So, I think we're all in agreement...we all want to play against real people.
And I think the whole concept of playing online is to play against real people.
Then again I could be wrong because a lot of the "Old Skool" players have
different opinions.
Lets just say if a bot or two happen to be in play well that's okay to.
The problem or misconception I'm seeing is when people say that they could
careless about winning or that they never go after bots.
And that it's all about having fun...win or lose.
Now I've played against many of you and many others and I've
never seen anyone pass on killing a bot. No one is avoiding
a bot kill. Me especially, I'm not going to miss out on a easy kill.
If a bot is present and it's in my way it's dead. But I have passed on
kiling a bots for real players...but I of course I return for the bot.

And not care about winning or losing..? Come on...I've seen to many
players leave in a huff after a lose and I've seen to many
players celebrate after a win.
Especially when they play against me and KK.
Everyone wants our blood or they're to timid to stay and play.
And over my years of playing this silly game I've been criticized
way to much...that in itself tells me people care about winning or losing.

Update me on what happened. Last time I looked, MEAT was on CG against DonDon. The map was DM-Crane. The score was DonDon 13 and MEAT had 2. I wonder who is enjoying this match more. DonDon trying not to be killed by MEAT while winning the game or MEAT chasing DonDOn all over the map and loosing in the end. The rules at CG are clear:

1st one to have 30 frags wins. There is no rebuttle.

Looked one more time before I left the game. DonDon score is 24 and MEAT is gone.

As we all know DonDon likes to spray from the street below...no big secret and no big skill.
So of course I make my way down to the street and start my hunt.
BOOM I catch him with a surprised missile to the back of the head.
Waiting below I know he's soon to arrive and luckily I see a translocator
flying threw the air. It's DonDon down from atop for more spraying.
But before he starts his frantic attempt to end the game he secretly
hides his translocator in hopes of using it as a possible escape.
WRONG...BOOM...the next time he tries to pick it up we'll be picking
him up in a body bag.
Now for a deliberate guided missile he hopes of luring him into what
he thinks is a teleport to freedom.
DonDon sees it coming so he stops ans stares with translocator in hand.
WHAM...DonDon has been telefragged my MEAT.
Ahh...the joy of the kill.
Now here is where it doesn't matter if you win or lose but rather
if you humiliate your opponent or not.

I'm laughing so hard I have tears because I was watching the exact same match from UT check and saw the exact same outcome. In fairness, DonDOn had pretty much his point spread long before Meat joined. MEAT did however leave before it was finished. I guess the truth is we're all about the same, just at different times. In a way that's nice. I realize this is a game of blood and guts, but Ive grown so tired of the attitudes and hatred that I find myself playing UZI more often and will probably eventually leave Deemers behind. There will never again be a group of people like we had back in the SRA days. That's why I was there and if that sort of group can't exists anymore there's little point in me waiting around for it to happen. I'm just glad I was there when it was GREAT. My whole good sport rant was a goofy effort to convince people that the only way to have a server of friends is to exercise proper sportsmanship and to check all egos at the door. That's not going to happen.
MEAT, you're the best and KK you're the second best and the rest of us, well, we're just the peanuts in your chit. There, I hope everyone's happy now:)
