Speechless

Post by MEAT » Sun Feb 05, 2006 1:28 am

Am I the only one.....but between games, when we are voting for maps, does anyone else have to switch back and forth between screens to read what others write? It seems that we use to beable to vote and chat at the same time and on the same screen...or is it just me?

Nope, it is everyone. I personally hate that feature of the mapvote, but to get it's benefits, we have to accept it's flaws.

What is the deal here? I don't understand. You can chat with mapvote and without it.

Yup just been on to recheck i dont see what you mean theres a box to type in and send so why do you say you have to swap between screens?

You can type in chat and send, but you have to actually get rid of the mapvote screen to see what anyone replies. At least on my system you do.
If there is a way to make the mapvote screen not default to full screen, then I would sing this mapvotes praises. Instead, it is a little frustrating.

MEAT and myself are not the only ones experiencing this issue. Is there a way to make the mapvote smaller?

I run 1280x1024 on a 21" monitor. I would bet that MEAT runs either that or 800x600. This may be the cause.

Yep

Agreed and not only that......there is no way for me to change to the size of mapvote. I run 1024X 768.

Actually it's set at 640x480.
Anything else and it makes me dizzy.

Well. There goes that theory.

I was thinking that it was the aspect ratio that was the culprit. Can not be the case.

Both 640X480 and 1024X768 run at an aspect ratio of 4:3.
1280X1024 has a ratio of 5:4.

Okay, time for plan B...

Any other ideas?

And probably a good one. I just hate to turn down the res when it plays so well on 1280x1024.

Are some montiors a lot sharper than others? I've never been able to see much improvement in detail past 800x600. Below that, with each step up in resolution the improvement is obvious. But going up to 1024x768 and 1280x1024 from 800x600 never shows me much more detail. It always seems so insignifigant. I run 1024x768 in my games only because the monitor doesn't have to readjust itself when I quit back to the desktop at that resolution.
I'm a man........but I can change........if I have to........I guess
