I like the new weapon bazars, I think they're funny (specially during the night they look cool), but I don't like the beginning add-on very much, it just looks odd and out of place. Just my opinion though. The Supreme One wrote:Retexturing in progress![]()
also ive added something to the beggining of the map wich i think will make the initial zombie fight more fun, but you'll just have to wait and see for that

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
well it looks out of place because the retexuring aint complete yet
the idea of it is to be a liandri supply station/portable arena to help with the anoying zombies at the start the idea is to lure the zombies into the arena and fight them, its only there for those who want to use it and ill probly change the lights at the front of it as they do look abit strange.
anyway laptop has decided to die again so i can no longer work on the map, wooptie f*cking doo the fun never stops.

Beta testers and mappers are aware of all secrets.
Anyway I'm sorry you can no longer work on the map Supreme, your house was pretty cool.

Yes, because he can design and see it whenever he likes!
And if he don't like it he can change it.
My house sucks and I can't even see it or change it myself

Dude I said from the beginning if you wanted to do your own house, you were welcome to. That's why I posted the cottage map. I'm just one guy....

Noo, I didn't mean it like that.
You did great work I only mean that I don't like the textures and that It's hard to say it for me when I can't see it
You and Supreme did gerat work so far.
I mostly don't think before I say/write something..
Don't take it offensive

Dude I totally wasn't
I really enjoy the cultural differences, so rest assured I don't ever take offense.
Besides I knew what you meant, I was poking fun back at you some. You've been very descriptive and helpful on making your home. It's hard to describe what you want, I know. Most people can't use the editor so I try to do what they want but it's quite tough.
Once this map is on the server I fully expect a flood of people wanting changes and adds. It's really the only way to do it I think. As you play, think about changes and I'll make you proud.
To everyone:
I'll be sending a PM/email to you tonight with your BETA password. The map will be Beta done and on saturday.

Also I forgot to add that if you are interested in a general password to enter the village, let me know and I'll PM you. There is one that will drop you into the middle of the village without having to go through someone's home. Non board members can go through the regular entrance and be buzzed in.
And @ Supreme: Sorry for your troubles on your comp. I fixed your house back, sorry it took so long. If you get back up, please let me know. I'd like to continue what you were doing in the city.
Last thing: I haven't done up the hall of fame yet. Will get to it I promise.

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
Something has gone incredibly wrong with Dead City 2, there were LITERALLY 30-40 zombies in the spawn room
It seemed unable to decide if it was play DC2 or DC2+, there were ghost skins lying all over and I got autokicked 4-5 times for no login data or something...just complete meltdown.

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
OK guys map is up on the server, and the mod is running.
Guys consider this a proof-of-concept thing, and not a fully polished map. I am getting some nasty bsp cuts because the main rooms are so dang big. If this is fun and catches on, I will redo it into something better and more individual. My good friend is the one who coded the original builder gun for 2K4 contruction so perhaps its a possiblity that you could work on your own to build something while in the map.
Anyhow give it a whirl but don't judge me too harshly. I've learned a LOT putting this together and if I had it to do over again, I could do a much better job. If we do this again it will be an apartment building where I can seperate the rooms better and there won't be so much laggy bsp crud.

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
Who'd have thought re-texturing a building would cause bsp cuts?
I'm sure we'll all want to see it.
Regardless of how perfect the map has actually turned out, it's got a lot of nice features and I'm sure it will help some of the admins complain less if we vote for the right city
Everything is relative, but your still the best we have by a long way

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
I'm not trying to pass the buck but the original map is messy to begin with. If you open it in ed you can see a bunch of overlapping brushes all over the city. That's generally a very bad idea. Visually it can work but the engine has to add a lot of extra computations over which brush is rendered and which brush is discarded. This causes bsp "cuts" and those cuts affect surrounding rooms, even if they are disconnected.
Now I would be the first to admit I made my share of mistakes too on this. Both main rooms are way oversized, which isn't a horrible problem, but the cottage brush repeated didn't help much either. Zoning became an issue too as rooms started spontaneously switching from normal to water to lava to slime. All in all it's a train wreck that barely works right. There's a huge bsp hole in the roof of the village I couldn't fix that I ended up hiding with a sheet brush. All-in-all I'm a little ashamed of the whole thing but there is a huge amount of hours tied up in it by me so I hate to just dump it. Like I said if you guys think it's fun, perhaps I'll rework the map and remove the DC part and make it just an MHM playground with a short associated MH map. The concept is valid, it's the implementing of it that's the problem.
Edit: Overnight I got an email from one of the BU mappers in residence who explained some things to me about what I had done wrong. I made a few changes and WOW the difference is amazing! Scratch all that previous stuff, game on man! I'll fix the map once changes and requests are submitted.
