Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
Guys I've gotten several messages about monsters so let me respond to all of them (and future ones) here.
Every single line of code for monsters is concerned with hunting you down and killing you. Now I can "trick" them into behaving pretty close to what everyone wants but save me (and you) the trouble of messages along the lines of "I shot my monster with the insta and he started attacking me, wtf?" or "My monster just stands there" (After I had to strip the AI out to keep it from attacking
)
Look, they are monsters. They kill players. If you want a decoration, I'll make a decoration but to have a monster behave EXACTLY opposite to what he is programmed to do is just not going to happen. Given a weekend I could probably go in and rewrite everything but why? If you REALLY wanted a pet, you wouldnt be shooting it.

Mine are fine but the only thing is that they don't stalk me and if they are angry they can shoot me and take health off me!

Everyones reaction upon seeing a monsters is to shoot it, either because guests think they're real or MHMs like to annoy eachother, and you tend to shoot your own pet to try and move it.
I'm stealing so many guests weapons I need to get Feel The Power Of The Cows or something on a bind.

I am so very surprised at that too. In my mind I thought once a player saw what would happen if they bothered the cows, they would avoid them. In fact the polar opposite is true. It's become a challenge now to affect them. I'll have to bear that in mind as I create things, and account for more variables in player behavior.

They stop the effect challenge when I beat them to their thrown weapons and don't give them back.
It's like the football over you neighbors wall effect, "You should have been more careful, it's mine now"

Some players have little or no respect towards pets. Hooligans...gopostal wrote:I am so very surprised at that too. In my mind I thought once a player saw what would happen if they bothered the cows, they would avoid them.

Re: MH-MHMDeadCity
You actually read my mind on that. I was thinking of coding an invisible actor to place inside each house that would punish anyone nuking a house by deleting their inventory.
Until then POTS you might summon a cow inside your house and Ice's to stop that. Also you have my permission to kickban anyone spamming the houses to kill the pets. It's time to respect people's ideas and for the players to show some restraint in the village. Pets were made for people to enjoy, and I really dislike the idea of someone else banging the outside of the house to kill the pets inside. It's your call how you handle it though.
Guys lets respect each others places. You have 100+ maps to "Expletive Deleted" around in, let this one be one to behave in.
