PC is screwed up after PSU replaced...

k so ive replaced my old 300watt psu with a new 550watt and had problems since the 1st time i turned it on,1st off i got bleeps and no screen so i fiddled with the ram then i got crazy cpu fan goin really fast with no screen, i kept fiddling with things till i got the screen workin and eventually got to windows login just so it can freeze, so i rebooted and no more monitor , so i switched bak to the 300watt and again no screen with cpu fan either not workin or goin really fast and now i get nothin on both

How could a power supply do all this?
Was your old one bad?
Maybe the new one was bad.
I don't think a power supply can fry anything. I think either it would work or not. Looks like not.

The old PSU was fine i just got the new 1 so i can get a new graphix card but somehow now my whole pc is ruined does not boot just sits there fans spinning with no monitor and harddrive not booting, i think the new psu has killed my mobo somehow

That bites and I am going to say it is doubtful too in my opinion. I'm sure everything happened as you say but I doubt a power supply can nuke a mobo. I also bet I may be very very wrong. Get back to the old one. Make sure you have everything plugged in good, especially ram!

well the most i get on both psu's is no monitor case fan spinning and cpu fan idle the odd part i dont get is if i plug case fan into cpu fan socket it works and if i plug cpu fan into case fan socket it works but cpu fan dont work in cpu fan socket, wats up with that anyway my pc apears to be dead all i get is harddrive light on constantly with fans goin insane and no monitor.
