Well, for a nice easy trial of NW3 we have had it on our very own CLD server since it came out.
NW3 for both DM and CTF on CLD :lol:
Should be a good fast download redirect too. :wink:

You know... I like big booms and large explosions.. they are pretty to me. To bad you are not able to smell the spent casings as you fire them....BUT.. how fun is it, where is the game if you nuke everything. I have seen screenshots and heard about these weapons and it kills everything in a huge radius but there is no sport in it. It loses its' fun after a while, after the "high" of seeing this explosions. That is my two cents.
Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

True if you use the big boy bomb but I'm sure it can be removed and or that it can be set to play only with certain maps etc. Ferali really went the distance with this mod and it is awesome. I do expect to have HOOK run with this one. I already have too many servers. I already don't try hard enough or at all actually. I also already have a few of the first full mod change over servers that were made being my chaos server and my UT4EVER server. At worst, I'll wait till all of the bugs are fixed on this new mod then check it out.

Here I'm agree with you. I tested them a while - even I downloaded everything for NW3. But... such a regen which allowed me to constantly spray redeemer (my redeemer was regenerated very fast - any ammo < 5 shouldn't be regenerated) even in a harder map with ambushes, those followers made game extreme easy. As long as I play a shooter and fight is missing these are out of my tastes. I'm not the guy impressed by colors, I look for a fair and balanced game and NW3 Vs MH is not matching any fight. I tested also CTF. Bots are doing nothing agaist those followers or guards placed around and I won match with experienced Bots 25 - 0 (including coffe break). I won't set up any NW3 server, these are my two cents too. I really don't understand why everybody need to say "awsome" for everything just counting screenshoots not tests.

I think I need to reply to those since no one else did:

@David: The nukes are not there to spam. Some MH servers are using the MH mutator that comes with NW3 which gives those rewards, however they can tweak if they wish to not give nukes at all, or to give the rewards in bigger time intervals.
In regular matches (CTF, DM) they serve the same function of the Redeemer: fire once to wipe out a region. But unlike the redeemer I wanted to give the player that overwhelming feeling that if he fires that weapon he will have a huge bang, the feeling of power in his/her hands is the kind of feeling you don't get with any redeemer.
Even Siege has a bigger redeemer because the standard is "heh..." and it's so weak that there are Redeemer arenas.
I have the opinion that a nuke has to be a nuke, and the Redeemer was a joke to me as a nuclear weapon, so I did these, simple.
Again, they are not to spam around, in an ideal situation these would only be fired 2 or 3 times in an entire normal game (I have to tweak the respawn times for these though), and in a MH game, that depends entirely on the admin, and not the pack itself.

@Nelsona: Seriously? You really tried to test the AI support of the pack with "experienced" bots and expected bots to do anything smart?
Allow me to explain: for UT, the first 4 levels of difficulty are considered to be "novice", while the last 4 levels are "non-novice". Their strategies, navigation and whatnot only starts to kick in by the 5th level difficulty.
So, if you want to test them against mines, cybots and etc, I suggest you to start on godlike where the AI support is more clear, or at least one of the other last 3 levels of difficulty.
You cannot possibly judge the AI support of any mod without testing it in godlike, where any support given is best noticed.

As for the regeneration, as I said above, that's another mutator from the pack that admins use, but it can be played without said mutator.

@Everyone: Before you judge the pack as a whole with "too powerfull" or "spam" or whatever, please take your time to check the pack settings on the Mod menu. There are plenty of settings and entire preset of profiles to load to better fit whatever experience you want.
I still didn't make this very clear, true, but with the re-release I intend to finish some docs covering this all up.

Of course, not everyone has to like the pack, but all the "complains" I see are due to lack of knowledge of the pack capabilities, mostly the settings themselves to tweak the entire pack.
Check the settings, tweak them to your own taste (to test the AI, please use one of the top 4 levels of difficulty...).

Also, if you notice something you don't like, it doesn't help to just "complain" and not post in the other topic about said issue. It feels very bad to have a "I didn't like this, but I won't tell anything to the author", and then the mod cannot be improved this way.
I worked on this for over 2 years, and I have no problems to fix and improve something if needed, so please give feedback instead of keeping for yourselves in this somewhat "hidden" topic when there's a whole thread here:

An extended documentation is welcomed to complete understand all settings.

For subject 8.2 from documentation. There are a few problems, indeed mappers doesn't really know what means a safe setup in maps, but... Nobody can predict any X or Y weapon pack creating troubles in year 2020, yeah.

As said War_Master a few months ago (years ?), mapper did a map with a purpose designing stuff like a rule in how to play that episode. If a MH mod X or a weapon mod Y is altering the normal map functionality, this is not welcomed nor by players, nor by admins. You need to give more informations about how are acting weapons. I meet cases when weaponry altered triggers ruining game. Those projectiles are meant to affect other actors than bIsPawn ? I think you understand what I mean. I don't want to see actors moved because "are bad placed" even they aren't pawns or movers damagetriggered. I'm totally agree to a discution related to different things and to fix any confusion for everybody.

Documentation might be let's say splitted in 2 pieces:
1) Basic informations - good to know stuff (admins, players, ... noobs why not ?);
2) Advanced informations - good to know for mappers, modders, etc.

Chapter A.I. Te, he - I want to see a server with GodLike bots and crawling with players. Already I had complains about my Bots used for MH last year- (a guy said: they are acting too fast - even none of them ran faster than player :mrgreen: and they were just default bots speaking with another controller... having only level 5 not the last).
Damn, people aren't satisfied ever.

Radius is massive, varying sizes depending on which weapon you use. I'm a big fan of firing a nuke and not getting killed by it.... so I've been good about firing and getting something between myself and the blastwave so I don't get killed.

The nuke blasts, while they do tend to shake the entire map, don't go through solid objects. So, you can survive blasts if you duck and cover.

@Ferali & @Nelsona: Game level is all well and good but whether or not you've got it at novice or whatever the highest setting is, the only way to get the bots skilled is to set them all up individually.

No matter what level the game is, my bots' skills remain the same... and my bots are psychotically deadly with NW3.

On this map, see that center platform way below Greeny there?

I can fire 4 to 7 Of the Level 5 nukes from when I jump and slowly drift down, love low-grav, to the levels further below, which devestates the place. Long as I stay close to the center of that central platform the force of the nukes won't hit me for the angle.

I use the Excessive ammo/health regeneration.

Edited yet another DM-HallOfGiants up just for NW3 play, haven't swapped weapons yet but I'm having fun with it. Picked a monster to go with, the only one I could think of with an attack worthy to fight against players with those weapons...
