Number of bots based on map size.

I have learned recently that there is a mod that allows you to control how many bots are assigned per map. Ithink that is great but I'm not about to start configuring the server to list maps by size as I thought I might before. Why? Because that is way more work than I'm willing to do not to mention that people would argue with which maps should be where. I think you should know what you vote for and accept it when you don't! Pity. I guess that number of bots based on map size was one of the tweaks they made in UT2k4 to improve the game of UT. On the rare occaisions one is alone at CG, there isn't much to shoot at any more.

How about number of players based on map size? Some of the smaller maps just can't support 10 players.
I know I know...it's more fun when it's crowded. Especially when your strategy is to spray and pray. Heard it....lol

Spray and prey is more like it MEAT, most may not agree but there is a technique there. Just watch players that consistently win the small maps, there really is no pray, only PREY...isnt English a fun language!! To, Too, two there, their, they are, theyre....weeeee fun..

Ever notice when a map loads/starts it gives you the "Ideal Player" amount?
For example it might say this map is "Ideal" for 2-6 players, while others bigger maps are "Ideal" for 4-8 players.
But there seems to be a discrepancy here?
When it says 2-6 players is "Ideal" what exactly does
that mean.....does that mean this game best played with 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 players?
And if 10 players join in is the game/map not used correctly.
Maybe there should be a player to map ratio? Maybe then the maps would be played correctly as well as fairly?
Maybe then we wouldn't have overcrowded maps that last only 2 min?
Maybe then we would have to use the redeemer correctly...be it strategic spraying, running/gunning or hiding/gliding?

Some of the regulars live for the two minute map!

You and I who prefer a map to take a while to finish are in the minority.

I hear ya nameless....2 min map....it takes me longer to brush my teeth.
And sure it's a "technique" used in playing this game but I wouldn't call it a skill.
All one is doing is shooting toward spawn areas and dark corners in "hopes"
of hitting something. Anyone that has played a bunch can figure that one out.
No challenge, no skill and all luck. And like I said before and have demonstrated,
you put 1 sprayer and 1 glider of equal talent together in a normal map and the glider will kick butt.
But I still have to laugh....I love watching a sprayer spray. Especially these new breed of sprayers
who just haven't found all the right angles yet. Franticly shooting in all directions.
What are this guys thinking? I just get tired watching them...lol

No doubt. Put 1 guider, 1 sprayer, and 5 whatevers in that same map and see who comes out on top.

Simple strategy. 1 vs 1. Hide and hunt.
5 or more. Spray like you own the joint.

I have no doubt that you get your jollies from killing the sprayer. The advanced sprayer is sending defensive deemers out to block you from doing that.

Hmm. You know what would be really cool. MEAT challenges someone to a duel. 3 maps. Best of three. Pick a sprayer. I would do it, but my deemer skills are rusty since I have been using the sniper rifle. Quite frankly, you would mop the floor with me.
What say you MEAT? Wanna challenge someone to a duel?

I forgot, I have a server now....I can do stuff like that....lol
If the interest was there I think it would be a great idea to start
having challenge matches and 2 on 2 team matches.
Maybe it would add some variety to this game and spice things up a little around here?
We could post challenges and results here at the forum?
Hey, I'm up for it and I since it was your idea Jarg you'll be my first victim.
Or better yet, if you want to team up we could challenge other 2 man teams?
Any takers out there?

Lets do this !!! I'm tired of losing to spawn killers that have no clue how to really play.
We need to go 1 on 1 to see who is the best. No more group spray fests...lol
1 on 1 any map.....There has to be someone out there that wants to play?
Although this forum has been dead for the last 4 months someone has to be out there?
In fact, if you come to my server and I see you we will go 1 on 1.
Any takers?
And I will post the results here.
I don't care who it is I will start posting results.

hmm...wink wink huh? Are you...you know...funny?
I wouldn't really say frustrated Herm but more bored then anything.
Everyone here is so one dimensional because of the small size maps.
You get 4 or more people in some of these maps and it gets crowded.
No other choice than to spay. Plus people get that excited feeling and think they have to spray.
And why not try something new? Lets do some challenges.
You can call it cute but from what I have seen people are scared of it.
And maybe some of the good players will come back?

Oh...I have the results to the first one on one challenge against some person named "rite_here".
He didn't fair to well. Plus he hated losing. Told me I should get cancer.
Gave me a FU and called me a loser. He left after 2 games.
Funny thing was to sit in the corner and watch him spray. Now he was frustrated...lol
