Windows XP bootable CD?

Post by a nameless entity » Wed Oct 31, 2012 12:23 pm

Anybody have any advice on how I make one of those bootable Windows CD's?

Is there a freeware program to help you make one?

I have no idea how to do this. I need one because my PC wouldn't boot all the way into Windows, and I had a heck of a time getting into safe mode, and then remembering how to navigate the windows without a mouse. My mouse never loads when this happens.
Anyway, I went back 10 days and restored to that point, and behold, I'm back online at least for this moment.

Pressing F8 is such a crap shoot on this PC. Quite often it won't go to the menu because I didn't press it in time after hitting the "on" button. You must be immediate. Anyhow I noticed on the load screen from Dell that F2 puts you into the bios options, and that F12 gives you boot up options.
With a bootable Windows CD I would have one more choice to try, all ready for the next time this PC tries to die on me.
I'm a man........but I can change........if I have to........I guess

Hmm a Dell ehh? Are you sure there is no "recovery" option that shows in the bios load screen? I assume you're running a quite old machine,so therefore it shuld be no problem, but you will need a .ISO file that is bootable ,you can check on some trusted torrent page after a Windows "original" windows XP copy (if not I am sure I have some copy somewhere saved on some PC I can look up for you) and then you will need an ISO software (I would suggest UltraISO) then just burn the CD/DVD image on a CD or DVD. if you need more help feel free to ask.:)

Oh and by the way if you have a license code wich I assume you have, you wanna look for a OEM copy (one for dell would be even better)

Good luck!
