Agreed
Yes, you are right. That is a bummer really. I hate rerunning paths because I died and even worse are maps that you have to run through them backwards to get to the next goal. I hate that. Don't show me a locked door at the beginning of a map then make me run two miles to get the key and then have to run all the way back to get in the door to flick a switch to open a door way back over where the key was. This is my only complaint about a few maps that others seem to enjoy.
~Peace~

Some MH maps are designed for group play, and just don't work when you try to play them alone. Glass Coup for instance, is impossible to do alone.
I think Long Corridor 2006 was a team mapping project over at Excalibur. The idea was to take the long corridor theme and make the map more attractive and interesting to play. But as a group effort. It was purposely designed to require team play. Players who strike out on their own will get killed eventually.
A weakness is that if you get killed in a later area, then you are kind of screwed as you must somehow catch up to the rest of the group so far ahead. It's best in that case to avoid the monsters as much as possible, and only shoot the ones that get in your way and can't be gotten around. Zig zag a lot to throw off the aim of those monsters that shoot at you.
And don't call up Glass Coup or any of the Long Corridor or spam maps when you are playing alone, unless you dig frustration.

There is a new spawn point about half way along. So if you are running to catch up and the group makes it to that point, you can always just die to catch up.
Hey Herm. I've been playing a different game for about 2 years now. It's based on the Unreal II engine. I'm just about all done with it though. The whole gang I used to play with have pretty much moved on to other things, and I'm tired of holding the fort alone. One more character class to check out, then I think I'm all done.
