Hey folks, this is just a thought for the new site but if it can easily run a server as I think gopostal says can be set up to do, I was wondering if it could run more than one? I ask because I also wonder if any of you ever played and enjoyed as much as I did a mod called ChaosUT. I especially like the UT2K4 version.

If you haven't played it too bad. It gets rediculously funny like no other mod I have ever seen before. I recall I ran one of these servers a long time back and I had lots of trouble with it because this mod is even more messed up and hard to run than MH is.

Give me some thoughts. Recent discussion about this mod has made me consider trying to set up a server again for it. I think I would try to do it under UT instead of UT2K4 though it isn't as fun on UT but it is still a blast and with the right people (YOU) it would be great fun I'm sure. I also bet that there are hardly any of these servers available currently but I haven't looked for them in years. Aren't they simply listed under DM now that I think about it. It doesn't have it's own tab like MH. Thoughts people?

the sword is fun but the katana in UT4E is way better.
You run faster "binslayer speed" and you have limited teleportation abilities with it too! It is also not so cumbersome to attack with.

Problem is that it is embedded in the huge mod.
I wish someone would extract it and make a separate katana mod to use on servers.

ChaosUT has all sorts of cool stuff. You get a sword instead of a chainsaw. You can shoot poison arrows with a bow or exploding ones. There is a black hole vortex weapon that you through into a big room and run. It sucks in everybody and kills them and yu get the frags. There is a freeze gun. There is a flame thrower. There are little smily faces that you can shoot out that chase everybody and talk crap to them until they catch them at which point they jump on you and explode. You can call in a big robot that teleports in and shoots up everyone but you and again you get the frags. There are proximity mines you put on the wall. They shoot out a red lazer across the room and anybody who crosses it gets torched and you get the frag. It is fun as hell and even funnier with other players.

When you kill peeps a headstone pops up by the white outline of their dead body. The stone will read player name killed by your name. When you get shot by poison arrow you go blind partially. I may have to try to set this up just so ya'll can fall out of your chair playing. The best part is nobody ever really tries to win. It's more of a contest in creative ways to kill people with your imagination.

Yes, I've played it and I have the mod.
Great FUN!

But, I thought gopostal said that the site space couldn't run a UT server.
I asked him that once.

Don't put words in my mouth K. LOL I'm saying that this mod is certainly better played on UT2K4 than UT because the UT2K4 version is much better. It has better graphics and weapons and the little 8 ball smily faces are funny as hell. They say over 100 thinks. They will stack up on each other to get close enough for one to jump at you and kil you by exploding.

So, what I'm saying is I might go ahead and see if I can get it to go on the same server with CG and MHM but I'll go with UT version instead of UT2K4 since all of us have UT. I'd do it from this server.

I agree 2004 is stunning visually compared to 99. movement is funny though.
I wish they did true to gameplay with ut3. "sighs"
Good luck With the mod Herm.
I used it on a server once and had major lag issues with the mod cause of some of the weapon effects.
Hopefully you don't find these obstacles.

Weeeee! If I get time, I'm going to set up a ChaosUT server again. Who here "DOES NOT HAVE" UT2K4?

I ask because I'd rather do this in UT2K4 but if you don't have it, I don't want you to miss out on the fun either so I'd do it in just UT. Let me know.
