Major Forum Member Deleted Error!!!
I just nuked 25 of the original memebers here by accidient. If you are one of them I am very sorry. I don't know what happened. SORRY! SORRY! SORRY! Please just reregister because there is nothing I can do at this point. It is too late. This is one of ther reasons I fear making changes here because I may break the whole thing and just as I can't fix the mistake I just made, I would not be able to fix it if I nuked the whole site. SORRY!

OK
OK. I know what I did. I was told of some spam bots so I went to clean them off the forum. The tool I have allows me to see the last 25 users that joined and knowing the first several hundred are not spam bots all I have to do is look at the last 25.
Each user name has a box by them. I can put a check in that box and hit delete which will delete the user and all of there posts. Above all 25 users listed is one box called select all. I put a check in that box and the second box which was the last member joined thinking it was the last 2 members joined which were the spam bots. In doing doing this, I selected the last 25 members that joined and the last member that joined. They all got nuked and every post they ever put on this forum.
That is awful and I feel o bad because this is the last 25 folks who thought enough of the forum to join it and play with us. There is an answer though. I can contact my website folks and have them restore since their last back up. That will be about 2 - 5 days ago. I can then have them do the restore but then everything in the last 5 days will be erased.
So here is the question? Do I do the restore and lose everything in the last 2-5 days and maybe even longer or do I leave it as it is? Again, I am so sorry for the mistake I made and I hope to resolve this the best way I can as fast as possible. CYA!

I am one of the purged dudes. First I was upset, my account and all my posts deleted without a valid reason, then I became frustrated and disappointed. One year of membership erased in a second. I have no words, just it was a f***ing Friday 17.
I hope you can recover most of the posts but I seriously doubt.
Sorry, there isn't much to talk about.

Now that you've explained what happened, all you need to do is warn everyone and then do the restore. What's a few blah blah blah's compared to these 25 members?
I think most of the members can continue to keep their mouths shut for a few days, and the others can recreate their threads that will soon be lost if they feel what they have to say is important enough.

OK
First support person lied. I can only back up from 10-12-08. I 'm going to do it since my mistake nuked years of post for some folks.
I am still on the phone with these folks now trying to get this done. Again, I'm so sorry. I don't even think I actually made the mistake I described but it is the only thing I can think actually happened. I'll be more sure and careful next time. This is just another reason for me to move this to a better provider. They only had back ups for today (4 of them and one from last week and one from last month. The ones from today grossly misrepresent the actual time of the backup to the point I can't rely on them so I'm backing up one week instead of a few hours ago.
I have made additional tickets for them to correct the time on the servers since the show to be about 6 hours off from my time when they should at worst show a 2 hour difference between here and California. They admit that this is a problem on their end. I will get everybody back and their posts except those people and post since 10-12-08. DAMN! I'M SO SORRY THIS HAPPENED! CYA!

Worry not people
Don't worry people. They assure me that this can be fixed. It should be fixed already though it isn't. I'm everything I can to get it put back to either the 16th or the 12th. You'll know when it happens.
