MEAT. Lets be clear from the get go here. Are you going to run the server from your place or do you want me to build it and run it here with the settings of your choice. I'll do it either way but like Jarg says, there is a special wonderful feeling that occurs when you produce a service that people like and use.

I suggest that you run it from there so you get all of the glory and all of the immediate control. I will be happy to walk you through step for step the best I can.

We can also build it on my box and serve from here but it will be affected by how many people are playing on my server based on what Jarg said. I have 360 upload bandwidth that lets me support about 12 players without too much problem. If I add your sever here, then that takes up some of my servers bandwidth and vice versa.

Your call sir. Let me know. Serving UT isn't hard. It takes some time and there are some moments that don't make sense but for me, it has all been well worth it. You have strong opinions about preferences just as I did and to me that dictates that you need to be your own boss so you can do it your way. I made lots of mistakes the whole way and learned from each of them but times and people change. You have many of the same ideas and now might be the time for them. Do it! Do the server. No matter what. Do it. Wait a week first if you need to. Start tonight if you need to. I'll help. Let me know. If you go with this, Iassure you that you will love it but there is a cost. The cost is that you will learn when to bend and when not to. The cost will dictate who to listen to and who to ignore. The cost is never ending hours of consideration and configuration. The pay off is bliss! The payoff is a never ending hobby. Never ending options. Never ending control which comes with never ending critics. Once you get all of the main work out of the way. Now I see your post Jarg. Good post and correct too. The first thing to see is what kind of internet bandwidth is available to you. Go to the site Jarg mentioned (I use it too.). Go to the section on left called tools and then in there, there is a section called speed test. Select the top test. Run it, get results, copy and paste them here. I get about 3,500 down and 360 up. I give about per player so 360 divided by 40 is 9. 9 players I can have for sure. I use 18 spots and on average about 8 are used. I overbook my connection speed like southwest airlines overbooks flights and I just hope that not everyone shows up at the same time. 10 spots for CG and 8 for MHM. Later!

I'd be more then happy to try and run the site from here...with a little or a lot of help.
I ran the test and the results were 619 down and 316 up.

Hmm. It may be best if you ran it from Herm's. The down speed is a little low, as well as the up speed.
Oh, and I already tried the telefrag only server... It was... interesting.
Just not real fun for the long haul.

Actually I was talking about telefragging the bots, instead of making an easy redeemer kill out of them.
A few times I've played with just one other person in the map along with two or three bots. Made it more of a challenge when we only telefraged the bots and hunt each other.
As for my site it's been put on the back burner for now.

meat you are so freaking lucky i had to uninstall the game and haven't got around to reinstalling cause of our 2k4 server
you may or may not of beat all the old time regs i know for sure you have never gone against 1 of the only few that has beaten death inc and yes i'm talking about me.
you can ask anyone who knows me i wen from the worst player to 1 of the top players over night.People used to challenge me cause I'm a girl and then get pissed when their lil male egos got crushed lmao.

If you want a good ask kicking come to our sniper server on 2k4.Myself and my guys will show you one.
