Andromeda crash

Post by -HellFire- » Sun Jan 04, 2009 12:45 pm

I played with Reiyel, Utena,Don and somebody else a while..
When we voted for MH-AndromedaAncient, my UT crashes and this message showed up:

I see there is something with UTexture or something?
Maybe the S3TC Texture?
I dont know hope some of you know.
I know there is lot of knowledge here

It isnt the harddisk memory because I have more than 120GB left there..

So that's why you weren't joining hellfire

We thought you were downloading the map.

Don't forget also that we were playing the map GodzReturn before that, and some player with a high ping (like 3000) joined and crashed the server. That's why we voted for Andromeda.

Try setting the size of your virtual memory three times the size of your actual RAM.

E.g.: 256 MB RAM ==> 768 MB virtual memory
512 MB RAM ==> 1536 MB virtual memory
and so on

This is never happened to me and I have the worst possible hardware.

Try setting your renderer back to Direct3D and connect to that map again. Does it crash? Now switch back to OpenGL and connect again? Does it crash? Now you mostly have your answer. Tell us what happens.

I really think that sometimes you just need to restart your computer. I don't know if the RAM is needing flushed or the buffers get full, but it's occasionally done that to me (almost always after a longer than usual session of the computer being on).

Press CTRL + Shift + ESC and tell us what's your memory usage whenever that error occurs.
Spywares and malwares also eat a lot of hardware resources, you should run an antivirus scan, for safety's sake.

You did not answer my questions in a format that tells me conclusively what your results were other than I think it failed both ways. Is that correct. The good news is that if it failed with D3D and with OpenGL then the textures are not your problem. The bad news is that I don't know what your problem is and would suggest a complete unistall of UT and then reinstall it and see if the problem still happens. If it does then your PC is messed up somehow.

Reggie Babe? Wha tdoes same mean? Same problem maybe? What were your specific results as in here is a example.

With OpenGL as the renderer I get that error.
With D3D renderer the game plays fine.

Also a clean-out of cache files might clear it too.

Perhaps check the version on the server to make sure it didnt corrupt somehow.
